The Rest of Reclining!

John 13:23 “One of his disciples, whom JESUS loved, was reclining against HIS chest.”

The Rest of Reclining!

There’s enough strings attached which constantly pull in different directions.

Hero effort aside, more fail to “pull back”…and rather “press on”.

At such, tears occurring, soon cause breaking points due to misplaced Zeal.

Without HIS Foundation, thus biblically set…so detached they remain.

Now for you to consider then is this submitted. Give GOD every string and “push back” in HIS arms!

As one of HIServants, resting beneath HIS wings despite all Life’s threads trying to pull us away,

Whitney

Devotional: Exodus 33:14 “And HE said, “MY presence will go with you, and I will give you rest!”

Psalm 4:8 “In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for YOU alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.”

The numbers of “#1 level problems” and totals of crisis issues that we face are those threads which pull at us roughly.

It seems like every day there’s a new or ongoing challenge which keeps us on HIS Potter’s wheel.

Psalm 37:7 “Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for HIM; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices!”

It’s pressures feel overwhelming throughout the day until we lay it down At CHRIST’s feet with Surrender.

Even then, we must continue to still leave it with HIM WHILE doing what we can.

Psalm 127:2 “It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for HE gives to HIS beloved sleep.”

The physical and spiritual exhale then that we long for is found in both the answer to our problem…

…AND at that moment we forfeit our Anxiety to JESUS. Hallelujah!

So instead of “pressing in” hard in this hour,

…retaining Worry and Doubt while HE continues to mold us;

…do all that you can as a wise steward would and then, having done all — just stand on HIS WORD.

Yes, oh Self! HE is faithful and true to HIS WORD as HE is the WORD and cannot deny HIMSELF nor fail us.

Matthew 11:28 “Come to ME, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

So “push back” into the glorious arms of GOD this morning where is our rest!

Ephesians 6:13 “Therefore take up the whole armor of GOD, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.”

Yes, WHILE resting in HIS arms!

Amen and amen!
