Authentic Affection!
Why is the definition of “loving JESUS” so often redefined by church goers?
When the Bible says to love HIM with all our heart, mind, body and soul…so why then is Zeal deemed — excessive?
It’s not with hype but a wholly surrendered heart with which one is drawn to read HIS WORD.
Yet such “edited” dross leads to convictionless Faith as each tiny red flag joins to make a dark banner.
Then camouflaged under a false crimson cover so souls stay misguided with compromised love.
So “loving like JESUS” meets all where they’re at but moves forward to leave pasts — behind.
John 5:14 “Afterward JESUS found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.”
Let us — in lock step — be NOT found still “lagging”. Instead walk and run with the love HE’s defined!

Devotional: 1 John 4:7-8 “Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from GOD.
Everyone who loves has been born of GOD and knows GOD.
8 Whoever does not love does not know GOD, because GOD is love.”
Yes, GOD is love…and HE defines it clearly.
HE tells us as HIS children to walk in love and writes in the Bible what that means.
1 Corinthians 13:7 “Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
Both the heights and kinds of HIS Compassion then are pure and unquestionably so.
So it breaks my heart to see how the church has taken social media’s diluted definitions and augmented, even replaced, what GOD has commanded.
There is to be no continuation of our steps in our own sinful definitions of love but rather a turning away from all such sin.
There’s no pride that the flesh boasts of that passes HIS inspection.
1 John 3:1 “See what kind of love the FATHER has given to us, that we should be called children of GOD; and so we are.
The reason why the world does not know us is that it does not know HIM.”
Still! The world demands we show them love according to their standards which…GOD hates.
They’ll even tell you, “Doesn’t the Bible say to love everyone?”
Or use a phrase like 1 John 4:8 “Anyone who does not love does not know GOD, because GOD is love.”
But they don’t think of love as JESUS has commanded (nor do they show humility or contrition.)
Yet they’ll argue as if they’re a CHRISTian too!
So the world and the lukewarm work tirelessly to drag us backwards to their distorted definitions of Love.
1 Corinthians 13:4 “Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant.”
Stand firm then, oh CHRISTian! We must love and seek the lost as CHRIST.
Colossians 3:14 “And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.”
And perfect loving like JESUS harmony can only be found in… JESUS!
We pray continually for those wayward with deep affection.
BUT! We cannot compromise our Faith in CHRIST by distorting what HE’s already written in HIS WORD…
…because that wouldn’t be giving others the only true and authentic affection of JESUS.
Since HE IS the only love WHO saves…let’s stay in and lead all others to — just HIS footprints!
Psalm 136:26 “Give thanks to the GOD of heaven. HIS love endures forever.”
