Gaining Holy Ground!
How shortened is
the distance in between
our given missions…
…and have we
agreed to listen;
moving closer
as HE calls?
How important
to keep watch;
to mark both
progress and
our loss…
to yet transformed
be by HIS Cross.
Then shall we know
where we stand.
So with GOD’s Holy
presence; comparing
HIS ways with our steps,
…crave the shortest
length of distance.

Devotional: Joshua 5:15 “And the commander of the LORD’s army said to Joshua, ‘Take off your sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy.’ And Joshua did so.”
Acts 7:33 “Then the LORD said to him, ‘Take off the sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.”
“Holy Ground” is a well known Biblical term. It’s a place GOD specifically marked as special.
It’s used twice in the Old Testament and once in the New Testament…
But it wasn’t the ground itself, the very grains of sand, that made it sacred.
Rather, it was the presence of Almighty GOD…WHO made it sacred.
So we must daily draw nearer to HIM and this reminds me of the old hymn, “Nearer, my GOD, to THEE.”
“Creating” Holy Ground then is done by craving and obtaining HIS presence…through regular study and zealous worship.
Therefore what Holy ground will you stand on today and who will join with you…craving HIS presence?
