Psalm 143:8 “Cause me to hear YOUR mercy in the morning; for I have hoped in THEE; make known to me, O LORD, the way wherein I should walk; for I have lifted up my soul to THEE!”
THROUGH!

Walking briskly on cobblestone sidewalks, so a tall figure moved in a hurried fashion.
As he noted the light fog in the streets, he rounded a street corner and felt the l heel of his leather boot slip slightly on the damp stones.
“What constant grit and grime these paths all hold!” he muttered silently.
Then flipping up his tan, trench coat collar once more, he reluctantly turned into the incessant gusts which had raced to meet him.
Lowering his head to deflect each liquid dart of rain, so he pushed through the chilling winds for several blocks.
Finally, ducking into an equally wet, wooden doorway, he gained temporary relief from the now swirling thunderstorm.
It took a few moments to sense any protection from the harsh elements but the welcome relief finally set in.
After a few more refreshing exhales, he then took in one deep breath, and while tightly gripping his hat, entered the chaotic weather once more.
Now it would be another seven blocks on these gritty, mismatched stones before he at last reached his destination.
Then ever so briefly pausing, he — with a hurried and vigorous pace — leapt up the six elevated steps and down a short hallway until an arched door stoicly stood before him.
Moments couldn’t even pass as the gravity of where he was began to sink in.
By GOD’s grace and with HIS strength, he’d made it.
Instantly the unforgiving chill and damp gave way to his greater feelings of expectant Joy!
For this had not been a simple journey of several blocks.
Rather, this had been several years through countless seasons of sacrifice.
So where he now stood marked the beginning of a new goal and a fresh start.
As he slowly exhaled out all of “the old”, his voice then was heard at its end — finally shouting!
“This IS the day that the LORD has made! Blessed be HIS NAME!”
As fervent echoes joined within the short hallway; their lingering residue deposited the most magnificent accompaniment ever heard!
As their duet faded into the silence, the man gradually and and gracefully removed his water- logged cap.
Allowing it to fall and crumple into a pile beside him, he barely gave it a glance before returning his gaze forward.
Someone was coming.
Footfalls from behind the door approached and the closing distance began to fill his eyes with tears.
The nearer they drew, the greater the joy until at the height of this experience, he dropped heavily onto his knees and wept.
For the door had opened and while yet with his face pressed to the floor, he finally heard…
“Well done, good and faithful servant! Enter into the Joy of your LORD!”

Devotional: Matthew 25:23 “His LORD said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your LORD!’”

During life, most are familiar with Revelation 3:20.
“Behold, I stand at the door [of the church] and continually knock. If anyone hears MY voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with them (restore them), and they with ME.”
But GOD!!
At that nanosecond when we are drawn THROUGH the veil into Heaven, HE opens the door to us for Eternity!
So it’s at that instant when we are transformed from this life into forever with CHRIST,
…we then proverbially “soar up” our last steps here to our eternal steps there.
What Joy! Therefore, Beloved!
THROUGH every season and storm, press onward shouting,
“Yes, yes LORD!” till HE comes!
Amen and amen.
