Genesis 1:16 “And GOD made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night…HE made the stars also.”
More than the Stars!
The night skies adorned with shimmering starlight boast boldly of GOD’s sovereign hand.
HIS fingers thus dotted the Heaven with lights which give worshipful praise to the LAMB!
How much more so we who’ve been made in CHRIST’s image to shine like the sun as HIS lamps!
Oh beacon of Flesh! Rise with torch wholly lit
burning brightly more steadfast than them!

Devotional: Psalm 147:4-5 “HE determines the number of the stars; HE gives to all of them their names.
5 Great is our LORD, and abundant in power;
HIS understanding is beyond measure!”
Like us, HE has given each star a name.
By comparison then, we look out each night and see countless stars (at least in our eyes) which are burning brightly.
As the rocks would have given all praise to CHRIST even if the disciples hadn’t…
…so you and I must shine to our fullest extent!
