Racing Home!

From the morning hour,
his pace was brisk!
From birth — we know
his story goes.
“Things to do!” with
paces kept that few
could match, and
fewer chose.
So, in service, Chris
drove forward because
his spirit…always ran!
Yes, with zeal ever
pressing on as planned
from dusk to dawn.
Yet he was fully vested
in our lives through
obstacles constraining.
In GOD’s hands he kept
on trusting though life’s
trials slowed his racing.
Though years would
pause some hopes and
dreams, his engine
surged unchanging;
Lending shoulder, ear
and hand to those whose
racing strength seemed
— fading.
Then! His checkered flag
arrived at last with frame
and engine lapsing…
…coasting first across
the finish line into GOD’s
everlasting!
So our souls are found
still “racing on” as family
AND his friends indeed…
…who have a few laps
left to go before HIS arms
— our hearts — receive!
With waves to GOD and Heav’ns choir where Chris has joined with both, so let us drive until CHRIST meets us in the clouds with…
“Welcome Home!”
Philippians 3:14 “I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of GOD in CHRIST JESUS.”
Press on then, dear Beloved, yes! PRESS ON!
