A Shared Time!

On a large movie screen, two people were seen deep in discussion.

With all eyes riveted on the moving picture before them, they heard:

“What if…(one of them said earnestly), when you looked across a crowd and saw faces…you also saw numbers?

What if each soul had a four digit display, portraying the scope of one year?

If unknown to them and seen only by you, would you then tell them that number IF…it marked their end?

Wouldn’t then you seek those whose marker – this year?

Wouldn’t they be the first you would go to… with CHRIST?”

The young man slowly  looked around the darkened movie theater.

He sighed quietly, looking around, because the numbers overlapped one another…like stacked papers.

Finally, out of faith in JESUS, and seeing no one moving, he stood and walked down the carpeted to a seat which had the fewest overlaps.

It was an aisle seat with a less than ideal view of the screen.

But he saw that the woman sitting next to the empty seat had the faded number of “2025” reflecting faintly above her long hair.

So he slowly sat down, while leaning his body away from her. Even so, she didn’t flinch, still staring at the screen.

As several moments of awkward silence drowned out the sound track playing, the young man found himself talking loudest to himself.

“Ok. I’m here but…what next?” he muttered silently.

He lowered his forehead briefly into both hands and exhaled.

“Should I even say anything about the year of their finish line?

That it’s THIS year?”

The script replayed within his thoughts until a equally youthful hand was gently placed on his forearm.

Startled but for a brief moment, he then turned into the thankful gaze of the woman next to him.

For a few seconds, only the muted dialogue on screen interrupted the silence. He finally exhaled and lightly grasped her hand.

“Thank GOD HE heard me!” she whispered excitedly.

A twinge of surprise then filled his mind and his face must have reflected it in the dim light.

“Oh!”, she exclaimed, “I’m sorry to startle you. But ever since you walked in, I asked GOD to have you sit by me.

His ongoing surprise and confusion then birthed the answer.

Looking just above his head with her tears beginning to fall, she whispered once more.

“Do you know my JESUS? I want you to know HIM today.

Letting her words linger for a moment longer, her focused gaze was solely upon him and elevated…once more.

Finally she spoke clearer and boldly.

“It’s so important, my friend, because there’s not much time left for us here.”

As HIServant in your service, watching the hour and readily sharing HIS NAME,

Job 14:5 “Since man’s days are determined, and the number of his months is with YOU, and YOU have appointed his limits that he cannot pass…”

James 4:14 “Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring.”

“What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.”

Matthew 6:33 “But seek first HIS kingdom and HIS righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well!”

Psalm 139:16 “YOUR eyes saw my unformed substance; in YOUR book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.”

So! Seek the LORD, my friend, and then share HIS Good News!

HE’s almost here!

Amen and amen!
