Uncovering the Wick!

Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your FATHER WHO is in heaven.”

Uncovering the Wick!

Does your soul prefer sin to pursue HIM — “Whenever!” ? Is HIS call from The WORD yet unanswered?

Do others discover you lukewarm in church or in silence through life without anchor?

I ask for the soul sitting next to you now with this prayer that your heart would ignite…

…so brightly they ask “Who’s the SOURCE within you?” and they too become vessels of light!

But you must uncover your lid so they’ll see; Yea, quickly transfer  our LORD’s glow!

For those without light have not yet met with CHRIST. Therefore stand and shine forth…

…so they’ll know!

As HIServant re-examining this torch so it always stays lit, fully shining,

Devotional: Ephesians 5:8 “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the LORD. Live as children of light!”

Philippians 2:15 “So that you may become blameless and pure, children of GOD without fault in a warped and crooked generation, then you will shine among them like stars in the sky.”

We have a set of Tiki torches around our pool. It’s beautiful at night and it keeps the bugs away.

When we’re down, someone simply goes around and puts the cap back on top of the wick and the flame

goes out.

Sometimes we go to church with own cap still on. And sometimes we just tell ourselves discouraging things.

Like: “Well, that’s the pastor’s job, isn’t it?”

“It’s all I could do to make it here so that’s enough.”

“I really need ministered to today so I’m not going to reach out this time.”

And I do get it.

It’s a safety zone and securing breathing space.  “I just don’t have enough in the tank to give to anyone else.”

But may I humbly be blunt? The service isn’t to please or comfort us primarily.

It’s to reflect HIS light to each other for those whose torch is more dim than our own.

Like feeding those across the table from us first.

For when we rise up to shine, even in our brokenness,

…then we look like a beacon of Hope and direction to the “heart wick” of those without CHRIST!

You’ll find by wholly serving others, (though your senses may be screaming for you to sit down), the Peace and Comfort of HIS SPIRIT will touch you!

To find more light, strength and Joy then …stand up in HIS presence so HIS glow will reach those in the darkness!

So! Go and do likewise, beloved! Take the cap off your wick before you go outside…and SHINE!

Amen and amen!
