By HIS Sovereign Call!

Psalm 27:14 “Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.”

By HIS Sovereign Call!

In Tragedy’s “accident” which had occurred
in my life as a very young man…
there a soul was transferred into Heaven…
and in doing so left me behind.

Having written a number of memories
and reviewed every one several times…
So this page from the heart is envisioned
with a voice speaking into my life.

In a vehicle right before mine, drove they
also as youthful yet older,
…running straight into something much larger
without braking as later discovered.

Thus its path, although blocked, went unchanged,
(to this hour which I yet wrestle with),
and that friend known as “only” slipped by…
leaving me here without my dear brother.

“Oh! Why did you not see the trouble ahead;
Why did you not swerve from Collision?
I looked up to you to lift me as we grew!
Oh to hear your voice answering mine!”

Then though all the Silence – exclusive
heard my ears what this heart would translate.
The sound of his words speaking to me once more
as I’d longed for…for so long a time.

“Whitney, oh Whitney! Find peace in GOD’s will
for HE drew me back Home in that moment!
I couldn’t have slowed, much less swerved any way
for HIS calling had come for Departure!

Yet knowing you watched me, I chose to be clear
leaving no tire marks nor attention…
for my soul went with HIM before feeling a thing
so you’d know I’m in Heav’ns safe harbor!

But then how you needed a stronger reminder
and GOD used that instant to mold you!
So HE pointed ahead to your future wife
and children HE’d pen on your pages.

Thus without hesitation, I simply looked up
so that you’d still be here to meet them.
Yes, for this very reason GOD used me the most!
That’s why I couldn’t push on the brake!

As HIServant in your service, longing for Home and the reunion with my brother, my father and JESUS,

Whitney

Devotional: James 5:7 “Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the LORD. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains.”

My brother was spirited Home to Heaven on July 18th, 1986. He drove right into the back of a stalled semi and never hit the brakes. He drove right into the trailer, straight on.

Like so many of you who’ve had a loved one go Home to the LORD, it is a grieving process. Mine didn’t hit me where I changed for over 5 years.

I would listen to all of the songs he loved and put headphones on till I cried myself out. GOD gave me this idea of this poem / devotional and my prayer is it helps someone else today.

But in hindsight, I now see that that was the intersection where my faith had to meet with reality. Years later I would learn my father also went home to be with GOD in a tragic car accident.

But as you look at the pictures, my mother and I agreed that we would continue the same message for my father when GOD carried him to Glory. GOD is sovereign!

So please remember, oh my Soul! GOD is still sovereign, every day, every hour and all the time!

So we wait on THEE to come for us while we pray for YOU…to comfort us! We are watching and waiting for that blessed hour!

Isaiah 40:31 “But those who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

Amen and amen!
