1 Peter 5:6: “Humble yourselves, therefore, under GOD’s mighty hand, that HE may lift you up in due time.”
Lifted Up!
Re-humble yourselves in the sight
of the LORD until HE lifts us up.
Remaining HIS faithful, so yet bend
the knee until GOD raises highest
our head.
For often we err by our choice to
go first rather than waiting
patiently for HIM.
Our set expectations then disappoint
those who insist on their timing
before HIS.
Oh Self, lay it down! Every mandate
you claim must be honored! I shout,
“Lay it down!”
Then beside it, bend also to bow
before GOD…and be sure that HE
shall lift you up!

Devotional: Psalm 30:1: “I will extol YOU, O LORD, for YOU have lifted me up and did not let my foes rejoice over me.”
Psalm 145:14: “The LORD upholds all who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down.”
Our expectations are different than final results.
That’s fairly obvious. But they aren’t always to the host and that’s where I run into trouble.
We are to be wise stewards and NOT just through caution to the wind or blindly state, “GOD will sort it out”.
Proverbs 16:33 teaches us this clearly. “The lot (or the dice) is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the LORD.”
For all our planning, thinking, redesigning and choice, every decision is from the LORD. HE watches over us. HE protects those who will stand with and bow before HIM.
Instead, we (I’ll just speak for myself) think the puzzle pieces before us are all inclusive! Meaning: This is all I have to deal with!
But there’s much unseen and not displayed yet as GOD knows the perfect timing for each.
So let us embrace James 4:10: “Humble yourselves before the LORD, and HE will lift you up.”
Yes! Yes, LORD!
