Drawing Near to JESUS!

Matthew 11:28: “Come to ME, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Drawing Near to JESUS!

During the winters in an old,
one room schoolhouse,
Those next to the coal stove
received the most warmth.

Now those at the back knew to
keep their coats buttoned
or wear, if they had it, one
more layer of clothing.

So gathering nearest to the
source of their heat…
Compares with each soul
who clings closest to CHRIST.

As such, every child with
“Distant” location
Seems like those sufficient
to stand by themselves.

But I share this with Hope;
He’s the Fire always watching!
WHO cares for HIS children
to draw nigh for their warmth.

Therefore! Rise from your seats
and press nearest to GOD
with radiant provisions
extended each hour!

As HIServant also warmed by HIS WORD, unmerited provisions and blessed by the only layer needed…HIS perfect blood,

Whitney

Devotional: Psalm 73:28: “But for me it is good to be near GOD; I have made the LORD GOD my refuge, that I may tell of all YOUR works.”

In this old schoolhouse winter analogy, children hoped for a few things. First, that the coal stove would be always burning brightly and warmly.

Second, that the teacher would keep the stove stocked so the light never went out.

Learning about JESUS is best when our hearts are opened as we bow in front of the Bible!

Thankfully, we can sit anywhere in the Earth’s classroom. GOD reaches us which HIS eternal flame and bids us draw closest to HIM.

The layers of clothing provided by the world cannot provide the GODly warmth that HE does, now can it?

So draw near to The FIRE, oh reader! Lift your hands with praise to our SOURCE WHOSE love never dies out!

Amen and amen.
