Acting as Though…
We live our lives giving and asking for prayer
Interceding, believing and lifting petitions.
Awaiting YOUR touch in the hearts of our brothers
and sisters in need…as if with them.
For by YOUR example and others before us
we earnestly plead with great faith for their blessing.
For all those in chains of the flesh or dark spirits
and those whom the World loves oppressing.
With each Faith intercession, LORD! Hear now our cries…
Intervene for these saints who are physically burdened!
With Rescue today, give their bodies YOUR respite
as we keep “gap-standing” in with them!
As HIServant reminded by Scripture this morning to pray for others in prison, in persecutions and other oppressions as if my life was also there with them,

Devotional: Ephesians 6:18: “Praying at all times in the SPIRIT, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints!”
1 Timothy 2:1 “First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people…”
So we have the commission to pray alertly, with perseverance and great intention. NOT something that’s casually done, is it?
Now it’s one thing to pray for someone casually. In passing when someone asks us to, we’re quick to say we will…but most often, just move on.
Not to say we forget or never pray for the individuals or situation…but!
It’s difficult to truly pray for someone without INTENTLY and regularly putting yourself in their shoes.
How about an imprisoned missionary overseas, (think Richard Wurmbrand/Tortured for CHRIST) an embattled believer surrounded by angry atheists or fanatics of a false religion?
Without knowing their details, how can we best pray?
Without empathizing directly, AS IF THERE WITH THEM…
how then will our faith be strong and aligned with their needs?
In truth, as we’re called to intercede, it mustn’t be less than if we’re crying out to be saved along with them.
The LORD’s return is so very close and the attacks are ratcheting up in severity and number against CHRISTians.
So let us put our hearts into each plea lifted to Heaven in faith believing that HE will move as we have asked!
