James 2:17 “Faith without works is dead.”
Preemptive Actions!

Before asking of GOD,
if any lacks Wisdom;
Let them first gauge their
actions done for HIM.
For through Effort’s display
comes one’s level of faith.
which comes surely ahead
of such questions.
For with Insight’s request comes
what called “common sense”
in that servants prove faithful
through service.
Once belief strongly stands
in their MASTER to grant
their petition, they then
ask intently.
Else as ships on the sea
during storms shake like leaves
then such wavering souls
will gain nothing.
So, my soul! Serve and honor
our LORD WHO has promised!
Then with steps steadfast,
request Wisdom’s gift!
As HIServant moving forward in faith into the yet unknown hours of Today and Tomorrow while trusting HIM,

Devotional: James 1:5-8 “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask GOD, WHO gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
6 But let him ask in faith, without doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.
7 For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the LORD; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”
Because our flesh often does the “doubting Thomas” routine, we are prone to wavering.
Asking with lukewarm Intention or as some casual inquiry, we have as much faith in “Hoping for the best!” as our comment of “yet expecting the worst”.
That’s simply hedging our bets and not faith at all. Period.
So let’s go back to our verse at the top. “Faith without works is dead.”
If I’m asking in faith for Wisdom YET I do not act urgently with sincere obedience to HIS instructions…
…then my request most likely won’t be answered. Now the unbeliever might call for Wisdom in order to see GOD.
That’s different.
But when we who know GOD decide to not pursue HIM and then ask for Wisdom in another area HE’s not leading in…
…then what should we expect? Would our good, good FATHER NOT send redirection or correction?
Because HE loves us, HE will send discipline before answering a request when we’re not really showing HIM we’re serious.
HE will give wisdom. Again with James 1:5 “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask GOD, WHO gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.”
James isn’t written to the unbeliever. Instead it’s penned for the 12 tribes of Israel.
My point remains that we must move forward in faith. PRO-actively!
Defined: Proactive “Acting in advance to deal with an expected difficulty; anticipatory.”
We must trust HIM in the unseen realm to provide for us here in this visible life.
So preemptively take steps as well within HIS footprints before just asking, oh my Soul!
Show HIM you’re progressing with trust that HE’ll next grant your plea for Wisdom!
Amen and amen.
