The Aroma of Prayer Fire!
Did you know that our prayers are
gathered by angels. With incense,
before HIM they are brought.
A fragrance to be born through
the air to HIS NAME within fire
from the altar of GOD.
Did you know then one angel with
all of our prayers combines them
together for HIM WHO is sovereign?
Ablaze with aromas most pleasing
to YHWH, let us then keep on filling
that censer with praise!

Devotional: Exodus 30:7–8 is the altar of incense in the tabernacle. Aaron is instructed to burn fragrant incense every morning before the LORD. “And he shall burn it,
…a regular incense offering,” before the LORD, throughout your generations.”
Now Revelation 8:3-4 “Another angel, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar.
He was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all GOD’s people, on the golden altar in front of the throne.
The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of GOD’s people, went up before GOD from the angel’s hand.”
Now the incense which was used in the Bible is made up of four spices.
“The sacred incense used in Exodus 30:34-38 was a meticulously blended mixture of equal parts of four ingredients:
“stacte (gum resin), onycha, galbanum, and pure frankincense.
This fragrant blend was seasoned with salt, pure, and holy, created by a perfumer to be burned on the altar of incense before the Ark of the Covenant.”
“Key details about the ingredients include:
Stacte (Nataph): Often understood as a rare aromatic resin, likely from myrrh or the balsam tree.
Onycha: A debated ingredient, some say it’s derived from the operculum of a Red Sea mollusk and others suggesting it’s a plant-based aromatic.
Galbanum: A resin from Ferula plants that produces a pungent, earthy scent.
Frankincense: A resin from Boswellia trees.”
So there’s Frankincense and likely Myrrh (from which is produced the Stacte) and that makes me reflect on our SAVIOUR’s birth!
I submit for your further study that, as it was freely given to our LORD GOD at HIS birth in human form,
so the incense continued to give and lift frankincense and myrrh to HIM daily!
In addition, look at Acts 10: 1-4.
“At Caesarea there was a man named Cornelius, a centurion of what was known as the Italian Cohort,
2 a devout man who feared GOD with all his household, gave alms generously to the people, and prayed continually to GOD.
3 About the ninth hour of the daya he saw clearly in a vision an angel of GOD come in and say to him, “Cornelius.”
4 And he stared at him in terror and said, “What is it, LORD?” And he said to him, “Your prayers AND your alms have ascended as a memorial before GOD.”
Likewise, Beloved! As such, may our daily and ongoing prayers be fully filled then with the fragrant incense of praise to our KING of kings!
