Changed Forever!

1 Peter 1:14 “Therefore prepare your minds for action. Be sober-minded. Set your hope fully on the grace to be given you at the revelation of JESUS CHRIST. As obedient children, do not conform to the desires of your former ignorance.” (Don’t look back! Remember Lot’s wife!)

Changed Forever!

When does something change one day, no longer seen as “what once was”? When does the picture, known as NOW, no longer match…its image stored?

Being separate then when will these versions join again in union…and can what has been transformed return to molds…of Yesterday?

So HIS WORD shows us a mirror
into which we’re called to gaze…
with the zeal of finding
answers to these questions
which are posed.
Going forward then we read GOD chains the Past behind our backs;
never leaving us as “unreformed”
nor just as lumps of clay.

Hence! HIS Potter’s wheel translates us from such non-descriptive forms.
No more known as common ground
nor just as dust as yet — unborn!
Surrounded then by Sovereign hands WHOSE love reshapes our chosen vessels; so there is no “looking backwards” as we breathe in — “Changed forever!”

As HIServant eternally thankful that HE never left me where I was and always holds the receipt for full payment of my sins,

Whitney

Devotional: 2 Peter 3:12 “Since everything will be dissolved in this way, what kind of people should you be? You should conduct yourselves in holiness and godliness as you anticipate and hasten the coming of the day of the GOD, when the heavens will be dissolved by fire and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with GOD’s promise, we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells!”

Things are a’changin’ all around us. The Heavens and the earth at HIS coming and won’t be the same but will be gloriously transformed…like we will be. That’s HIS promise and we rejoice that HIS promises aren’t like those we make to others or ourselves!

Now…have you ever read a book saw the movie and thought the two were hardly close? Or perhaps you’ve seen the first movie of a series and by the second movie 10 months later, the character in question truly “looks different”. Now time passed so there will be some “expected alterations” like physical growth, maturity, etc. from the earlier version, yes?

Well, yes…and no. In the sense that we are daily being “conformed into HIS image and likeness” as we read in Romans 8:28-29, then yes. Conform every part of us to THY perfect self without delay! So, we are indeed changing.

“And we know that GOD works all things together for the good of those who love HIM, who are called according to HIS purpose. For those GOD foreknew, HE also predestined to be conformed to the image of HIS SON, so that HE would the be the firstborn among many brothers.”

However, in the sense that who we were before HIM opening our eyes, then no…we should NOT permit or expect to engage any backwards steps. There shouldn’t be any loss of faith and increase of Doubt whereby we run back to Yesterday’s molds. Yes, those from which HE sovereignly pulled and cleansed us eternally. Hallelujah!

But…we do step backwards and not because GOD is leading us to a previous step. We backslide both consciously and otherwise and, speaking most of all to myself, then people look at us and scratch their heads. “I thought Whitney was like this but what I just saw looks very different. Perhaps he’s no longer trying to get closer to CHRIST…GOD’s abandoned him.

And so the rumor-mill winds up with partial truths entwined with personal opinion and judgmental speech. Sadly, we ourselves choose many of the paths and their consequences are ours to bear both fairly and unfairly.

But thank GOD for HIS love which we see lifting other believers out of miry pits which they dug, which they fell into and others which were set as traps to trip them up. The Bible is full of examples of each and again, thank GOD…HE doesn’t leave us ever!

So our personal responsibility to is dust ourselves off and move back into HIS footprints upon HIS Potter’s wheel. No matter the responsive of others, be a selfless, positive influence on others for CHRIST pointing out HIS matchless grace and forgiveness… which forgave us both.

Therefore, be willingly and even joyously inconvenienced in HIS transformational hands knowing that HE will NEVER fail you! Unlike “forever changing” while here on earth, rather HE WILL conform us into HIS image at HIS return! Then in Heaven we shall eternally exist for CHRIST…changed forever! Perfect!

Amen and amen!
