With Lesser Degrees!

Matthew‬ ‭16:24‬ “Then said JESUS unto HIS disciples, If any man will come after ME, let HIM deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow ME.”

With Lesser Degrees!

Perpendicular rays

without any beginning

YOUR crossroads become

…intersecting as lines.

Extending forever

with endless compassions

by which we are held

safe and sound in YOUR arms.

For both Future and Past

are between YOUR hands measured

just as this Present span

stands contained with its peers!

Thus THY sovereign control,

spanning every direction,

crossects countless souls

with such gracious release!

Though no more bound by sin

nor Hell’s weight as Life’s burden,

daily carry your cross

to the Lost…who need HIS.

As HIServant and fellow cross bearing member with you,

Devotional: Isaiah 54:10 “Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet MY unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor MY covenant of peace be removed,” says the LORD, WHO has compassion on you.”

Carrying our own cross is an action which cannot occur at a 90 degree angle. Straight up and down, perpendicularly set…means one is stationary. Statuesque. Standing still.

Rather the angles of relentless service in HIS footsteps are largely found in the degrees closer to 0.

Why? “Bowing” before the LORD reverently as we serve…is one reason. Also, forward progress in a crossbearing effort is gained through a lesser angle than HIS…which was 90 degrees and perpendicular to the earth.

Luke 9:23 “And HE was saying to all, “If anyone desires to come after ME, (to be led by) let him deny himself, and let him take up his cross every day, and let him follow ME.”

So we carry our cross as CHRIST commands without the fear or weight of the eternal punishment which is rightly ours! At angles which most likely feel like they’re pressed down between 12 to 43 degrees, we can “press on” in HIS strength just as the disciples and other martyrs have!

By denying our flesh the stench of all sin then are we usable vessels carrying the greatest message of all! CHRIST is us, the Hope of Glory!

Amen and amen!
