Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears MY voice and opens the door, I will come in and dine with him, and he with ME.”
Else: Standing By!
Opened doors cannot be shut
when GOD’s will compels them solely…
and closed doors cannot remain
when HIS voice proclaims “Come forth!”
Unshackled hearts then worship freely flowing without hindrance.
But those closed — rejected HIM and in Darkness chose to stay!
So those outside HIS chambers
kneel in chains beyond the entrance.
There the door into HIS feast
has been sealed — no more to move!
Those within sing songs of Joy
and with the Bridegroom do rejoice…
having carried extra oil and wisely trimmed their lamps.
So while HIS door is open
hear my plea, “To GOD surrender!”
This Age of Grace is waning
and HIS trumpet soon shall sound.
Thus be not found in Darkness
both unwise and out of Time…
Rather give your all to CHRIST;
else for the EXIT sign…stand by!
As HIServant expectantly awaiting HIS trumpeting return,
Devotional: Revelation 3:7-8 “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: HE WHO is holy, WHO is true, WHO has the key of David, WHO opens and no one will shut, and who shuts and no one opens, says this: ‘I know your deeds. Behold, I have put before you an open door which no one can shut, because you have a little power, and have kept My word, and have not denied MY NAME.”
In clearest terms we know that GOD is omnipotent (all powerful), omniscient, (all knowing) and omnipresent (everywhere). So it makes perfect sense that when HE opens a door, nothing and no one can shut that door against HIS will, yes?
We know our own frail frames yet we can stand boldly in CHRIST JESUS because we have kept HIS WORD and have not denied HIS NAME. (I speak this to those who are of the Body and Blood of CHRIST). But there are others who claim HIM NAME yet have no knowledge of HIS WORD.
Matthew 25:10-12 “But while they were on their way to buy it (the oil), the BRIDEGROOM arrived. Those who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet, and the door was shut. Later, the other virgins arrived and said, ‘LORD, LORD, open the door for us!’ But HE replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I do not know you.’”
Here we have the LORD shutting the door to the Age of Grace, in my opinion. When we are raptured, (harpazo = a sudden, catching away), then we are taken to the 7 year marriage feast while the 7 years and Time of Jacob’s Trouble unfold.
Note that the foolish have used up their oil and are asking for what the wise have. Now this may be simply stating that the wise are ready and the foolish aren’t. In my humbled opinion, I see the oil as End-Times knowledge.
Walk with me for a moment. When we want more knowledge, we go to school. We pay the “merchants” for this instruction and get a piece of paper that states that knowledge has been sufficiently transferred to and absorbed by us.
I see the foolish virgins have burned through their surface level “wisdom”. I see the wise having studied the WORD of GOD carefully, rightly dividing the WORD of Truth.
So when the foolish try to mooch some oil / knowledge from the wise, they are told to go and buy it from the merchants.
Perhaps this example is illustrated here to point out that there was no time to go get sufficient knowledge to have been ready. That time had already passed.
BUT GOD! We are not there yet! We can learn and study and dig deep right now! We can prepare our hearts, humble our spirits to align with HIS and trim our lamps AS we live. This way our lamps burn consistently and evenly even as we serve relentlessly!
So HE is knocking on your door right now! Will you open? Will you be as Martha preparing for some church event but denying the ONE WHO is deserving of all the praise? I speak most of all to myself.
Finally, looking at Revelation 3:8 again, “‘I know your deeds. Behold, I have put before you an open door which no one can shut, because you have a little power, and have kept My word, and have not denied MY NAME.”
HE has placed an open door yet before us to run towards daily. To learn about hourly as we fast, pray and serve. So be a broken Berean (as I titled a devotional a couple weeks back.
Be studious, and look into being / staying prepared without falling back to the temporal cares and unCHRIST-like concerns of this life.
Await the BRIDGEROOM with all reverence and expectation! Await our LORD GOD WHO is coming back for us soon and very soon!
Amen and amen!
