With Cross-eyed Pursuit!

Psalm 34:5 “They looked to Him and were radiant, and their faces will never be ashamed!”

With Cross-eyed Pursuit!

Vision assumes Clarity

yet Flesh — found declining…

more often sees through the glass darkly — at best.

Thus HIS steps set before us soon cloud with distractions…

if viewed are such obstacles

off to the side.

So all Sight place on CHRIST’s living WORD — for HIS steps, which press forward, restrain us from slipping! Amen!

And again we shout, “Amen!”

As HIServant whose gaze is refixed upon JESUS,

Whitney

Devotional: Isaiah 53:6 “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned — every one — to his own way; and the LORD has laid on HIMSELF the iniquity of us all.”

“With Cross-eyed Pursuit” as a devotional title, that probably sounds like a contradiction. At least, at the first.

But with our eyes fixed on the JESUS and seeing the Cross, that EMPTY cross that once was so privileged to hold the earthly frame of CHRIST incarnate…

…then our vision is unclouded and we can clearly see HIS steps before us! Amen?

Even in the Old Testament, in Psalm 37:31, we see this encouragement. “The law of his GOD is in his heart; his steps do not slip.”

Then, in Acts 26:16-19, we see the imprisoned Apostle Paul, preaching before a pagan king, telling this King Agrippa how JESUS CHRIST apprehended and transformed Paul on the road to Damascus’

Paul, in these verses, is sharing what the LORD directly said to him.

“But rise and stand upon your feet, for I have appeared to you for this purpose, to appoint you as a servant and witness to the things in which you have seen ME and to those in which I will appear to you, 17 delivering you from your people and from the Gentiles — to whom I am sending you 18 to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of satan to GOD, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in ME.’

19 “Therefore, O King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision…”

What Vision! What HEAVENLY, supernaturally driven sight was given to Paul!

We see this encouragement and instruction in just the first three as well as first ten words of Hebrews 12:2!

“Let is fix our eyes upon JESUS, the AUTHOR (Founder) and FINISHER (Perfecter) of our faith, WHO for the joy that was set before HIM endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of GOD.”

So with our Cross of CHRIST-eyed view, knowing it is empty just as is the Tomb, knowing HE is risen, HE is risen indeed, THEN!!

Ephesians 6:13 “Therefore take up the whole armor of GOD, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm…”

Stand firm then, my friends, in CHRIST for the depth of HIS footprints and the clear sight of HIS face….restrain us from slipping!

Amen and amen!
