Psalm 27:13-14 “I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living! Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!
Waiting…WITH GOD!
The prayers of the saints,
both most zealous and calm…
are lifted each minute and
in between seconds.
Their petitions (we add to,
both urgent and casual)…
are lifted for answers
to come from GOD’s throne.
Yea, from Heaven’s estate,
when the Instant is spinning…
as even the second hand
races — headlong.
So try as we may
to restrain all three hands…
one — unhindered — continues
outside our control.
Whichever runs freely
so seems then Times’ passage.
So if Hours and Minutes
are held, Seconds fly!
Yet before Hopeless feelings
entwine our hearts’ prayer;
Before “overwhelming”
takes over our thoughts…
Leave Times’ hands in the hand
of HIM WHO made our moments!
Place your rest in the steps
of HIM WHO walks on water!
Now zealously seeking,
So pray without ceasing!
Believe in HIS Timing; yea!

Devotional: First off, why are they called hands on a clock? Before the late 14th century, a fixed hand (often a carving literally shaped like a hand) indicated the hour by pointing to numbers on a rotating dial.
So the dual definition word of “second” seems numerically out of place as there’s already the Hour and Minute hand…suggest the “second” hand is really — the third.
But since we can’t stop nor slow any of the three indicating arms on the clock, we must make certain that our “Waiting” is correct. WHO are we waiting for and WHY?
Already knowing and loving Isaiah 40:31, so we also read Lamentations 3:25 “The LORD is good to those who wait for HIM, to the soul who seeks HIM!”
Waiting on our LORD GOD and KING is one thing. SEEKING HIM at the same time…is quite another. May our souls encourage each other as Heaven’s Fabric has been sovereignly sewn, side by side, strengthening one another!
Psalm 37:7 “Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for HIM; worry not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices!”
Regardless of political party, affiliation, or denomination; regardless of whether such a person is male or female…GOD DOES WORK ALL THINGS together for our good!
Such wickedness cannot and will not eternally succeed. It is JUST of a moment in Time, and then face-to- face! Thank YOU, GOD!
James 5: 7-8 “Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the LORD. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains. You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the LORD is at hand.”
This is back in James’ time and the coming of the LORD was at hand then as it is now. The BIG difference is that Israel didn’t become a nation again until 1947-48.
GOD said that generation wouldn’t pass until HIS return so we watch, pray…and WAIT!
1 Peter 5:10 “And after you have suffered a little while, the GOD of all grace, who has called you to HIS eternal glory in CHRIST, will HIMSELF restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you!”
Give glory, all glory to GOD, oh my soul…as you wait! HE is coming! So wait WITH HIM…in your heart! WITH all expectancy!
