Why does the very image of GOD appear to “them which are perishing”…as “less than”, unattractive and incomplete?
Both small and great and rich and poor seemingly seek enhancements or subtractions…from how GOD designed them.
Know ye not that every race in life is unique and individual? Is it not well known that HE granted us exclusive provision for only the path HE sovereignly created for our feet?
Surface level Aesthetics and temporary, mental prosthetics look to be applied as though all part of an “evolving” belief for necessary human betterment.
Or so the claim goes.
But you see, Moses stuttered. He was no motivational speaker or people’s activist leading the charge. But GOD moved through him to free Israel. Zacchaeus was a “wee little man” and a chief tax-collector, a most hated man at the city of Jericho. But GOD called him and had dinner with this “sinner”!
Paul wasn’t tall nor impressive when he spoke. He went from earthly riches to earthly rags yet was given close contact by GOD’s choosing. David was, at the time, the youngest and smallest when Samuel told him he would be king one day. No one else thought he’d be picked. Yet he was.
Sarah was far too old by earthly standards to deliver the child of promise. But GOD delivered Issac to her ….right on time.
Look at the Amplified version of 1 Corinthians 1:26-31
“Just look at your own calling, believers; not many [of you were considered] wise according to human standards, not many powerful or influential, not many of high and noble birth.
27 But GOD has selected [for HIS purpose] the foolish things of the world to shame the wise [revealing their ignorance], and GOD has selected [for HIS purpose] the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong [revealing their frailty].
28 GOD has selected [for HIS purpose] the insignificant (base) things of the world, and the things that are despised and treated with contempt, [even] the things that are nothing, so that HE might reduce to nothing the things that are,
29 so that no one may [be able to] boast in the presence of GOD.
30 But it is from HIM that you are in CHRIST JESUS, WHO became to us wisdom from GOD [revealing HIS plan of salvation], and righteousness [making us acceptable to GOD], and sanctification [making us holy and setting us apart for GOD], and redemption [providing our ransom from the penalty for sin],
31 so then, as it is written [in Scripture], “He who boasts and glories, let him boast and glory in the LORD!”
See? HE has created you with a one-of-a-kind purpose with a one-of-a-kind set of skills to do a pre-defined set of “good deeds” exclusively for HIS glory….and all was perfectly planned before Time began.
So whatever limitations the world assesses against you; no matter what “restrictions” they say your GOD-blessed and sovereignly given human frame has….embrace Ephesians 2:10!
“For we are HIS workmanship, created in CHRIST JESUS for good works, which GOD prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them!”
GOD made all HIS children uniquely and perfectly as vessels prepared to serve HIM…for HIS Glory!
So rise! Pick yourself up from the corner the world has cast you into…and WALK!
Even RUN as HE had made you, doing all HE has made you for, for HE has perfectly delivered you as planned!
