Exodus 34:30a “So when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone…”
Until as Moses!
Reflections of strength and reliance — past given — cannot move the Future when — abandoned — one’s post.
Yea, bowing beneath the Shelter and Refuge of GOD’s Sovereign wings.
When outside of HIS steps and away from GOD’s presence, CHRIST then is not mirrored to those souls we stand near.
So HIS strength and our reliance upon HIM…must always be present tense! Today, current time: even this very hour!
Else as shadows which bring no warmth or as torches unlit still remaining…
…so shall we also be if we stand in the past! Behold! HIS steps for us are ahead! Press on!

Devotional: Exodus 34:33 “And when Moses had finished speaking with them, he put a veil on his face.”
What’s interesting to me as a parallel is that when Moses first came to tell the people the commandments of GOD, his face was unveiled.
Well, naturally since he didn’t know his face was shining. But!
When he was done speaking, he did put his N-95 predecessor mask on. So he either went and got one or one was brought to him.
But the point is he spoke with unveiled face to the people the first time. They then knew that Moses had had an encounter with GOD HIMSELF.
Moses spoke GOD’s WORDS with the residue of HIS Holy presence visibly shining on his face. So the Israelites knew moving forward when Moses had talked with GOD.
The point for us is to sit at HIS feet as Mary did, without any earthly hindrances or “priorities” holding us from giving JESUS our unveiled faces!
Then! When we go and joyfully share with others what GOD has shown us, we must not put on our earthly masks. The masks we have for different people and various situations.
Rather! Instead of asking people to see through our veil darkly, as though a glass as we read about in 1 Corinthians 13:12 below, we should share with an open face!
“For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known!”
So we must go early and often “up the mountain” to meet with our LORD GOD! We must unbridle the residue we are given from such personal devotions and share openly, without the veil!
THAT’s what makes the difference so people see through “transparent you” to behold the face of CHRIST in us!!
So let us shine for JESUS, as the old children’s song gladly sounds! Press in as Moses did…and glow as GOD’s light indwells you!
Amen and amen!
