Guarding the Gateways!

2 Corinthians 10:5 “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of GOD, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of CHRIST…”

Guarding the Gateways!

Managing minutes in the margin of moments

so we do taking captive each worldly thought.

For they are not of GOD! Thus they steal away Time…

till the seconds remaining grind down until caught.

But not as though captured as spans which bring gain;

rather chained to “delusions of grandeur” abound!

WHEN our sight WAS on CHRIST yet our focus had wavered,

so then were we trapped! Yea by sins were we bound.

Therefore cast off, oh Pilgrim, each vision drawn vainly;

Imaginations and like dreams found — off course!

Do not entertain nor attempt to restrain them. Instead!

Cut their cords and think just on the LORD!

As HIServant commissioned alongside of you to do likewise,

Devotional: Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think on these things.”

Have you ever tried to hold down an energetic little child to change their clothes?

Or perhaps a young cat that you were trying to give a bath to; well knowing how much it disliked being in the water?

That’s what we often run into with “taking thoughts captive.” It’s rambunctious and fights us at every turn UNLESS….

…unless we yield to it and let it have its run of our mind. As such, we are the guards of our own gateways.

We know from GOD’s word that Greed, Lust and Pride are three category 5 sins which storm the gates of our thought life often.

Like Solomon, though gifted with great knowledge, he was not able to manage these hurricanes of sin and they destroyed his walk with the LORD.

So, “taking every thought captive” might be better defined for us as “cast it OUT…before it comes through the door.”

Holding things inside and trying to manage them in our weak flesh usually leaves each soul tired from the battle and far from being in control.

So “don’t even open the door to such thoughts or things”. You know it’s voice doesn’t sound like the LORD’s.

Chaos, confusion and darkness are not welcome inside our vessel nor are they complementary or compatible with our spiritual health!

So not only shut but bar the gateway to your mind save the word of Almighty GOD and those zealously seeking first HIS Kingdom!

Amen and amen!
