Compression’s Provision!

Isaiah 58:10 “If you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday!”

Compression’s Provision!

Come oh LORD JESUS;
come rain within us!
Reign down from Glory
…displaying YOUR love.

Yes! Even “more than”
YOU already pour!
Come soak us completely,
yes come, oh sweet LORD!

Then! Every moment
employ us “pressed down”…
to thus provide water for
those gathered ‘round!

So rain down within us
LORD JESUS, Love’s SOURCE!
Purge the dross yet inside with
the Light which is YOURS!

Until drained is each sponge,
sovereign GOD, take these reins!
Bid our sight behold Heaven…
expectant of Rain!

As HIServant and fellow sponge alongside of you pouring out,

Whitney

Devotional: Isaiah 58:11 “And the LORD will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail!”

This is much aligned with Luke 6:38 “Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”

But “Self-compression” isn’t about debasing ourselves.

It IS about willingly being used, pressed and poured out — even inconvenienced — for others to hear the Gospel and be uplifted with spiritual and physical nourishment.

So when we then read the second verse of today, Isaiah 59:11, we see that GOD, in turn, waters us for doing as HE did on earth.

Look at Proverbs 11:25b “…he that watereth shall be watered also himself.” Actually verses 24-25 go seamlessly together for this point.

But giving GOD’s nourishment to others is found in the fruits (also very healthy and spiritually edible and edifying) of the SPIRIT.

So am I a spiritual “farmers market” to those hungry and thirsty? The proof is found in Self reflection.

What are the fruits and the beverages that I’m displaying through my words and actions?

So lift our hearts and minds to expectantly await YOUR return! As we serve and pour out willingly, we’re also aware of the times we hold back.

Press us, COMPRESS us thoroughly then, so that our empty sponge will — with the next prayer or act of praise — be instantly filled with the pure waters of YOUR presence!

Thank YOU, oh LORD!!

Amen and amen!

Be ye poured out for HIS NAMEsake!
