Philippians 1:9-10 “And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of CHRIST…”
Given: CALVARY!
What blessed release; what relief
brings our SAVIOUR!
Though once crushed and defaced,
yet HIS presence remains!
With great thanks thus we praise HIM
for Timeless endurance!
As such, given Calvary…
what more could we gain?
So! No temporal provision,
no earthly supply;
without want for what passes…
which flesh oft defines!
Hence the joy of the LORD
as our strength surges forward…
no matter the “loss”
which the world assigns.
Therefore must this drum beat
much LONGER continue
for this message of Hope
is HIS signature line!
Crossing over at Calvary,
Eternity’s crossroads…
thus claiming our souls as HE shouts,
“You are mine!”
As HIS “little drummer boy” continuing to march to HIS drumbeat and preach just HIS NAME,

Devotional: Hebrews 4:12 “For the WORD of GOD is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and DISCERNING the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”
What then are the thoughts and intentions of your heart? Consider that every “thing” in this life is temporary: every Christmas gift, every birthday present, each “offering” to us. They’ll all fade, fall apart, break down, become altogether useless and/or…simply unwanted.
And yet. AND YET! Our temporal vessels of short-lived clay cling more so, by choice, to the equally “fading away” things of this life. But the truth is and what logic dictates is…that one hold onto what’s permanent and eternal instead.
While THIS knowledge is already well known and timeless, eternal LIfe is not some well “thought out” gifting that ceases to be “as important” or wanted — over time.
Also well known is that these distractions and things in critical need of our attention….WILL draw our sight to other things. The gravest challenge then which we all face each hour…is one of discernment.
Proverbs 4:7 “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom and in all your getting, get understanding.”
Why we permit more of our zeal to be GIVEN to all else…is without a reasonable answer. As such, my reminder (to self most of all) is to treasure the GIFT of CALVARY above all.
Look at the sobering verse found in Luke 9:62: JESUS said to him, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back…is fit for the kingdom of GOD.”
My point, regarding this scripture, is that “looking back” is choosing a path of foolishness. It’s looking more so at the waves of this world till relying on mostly on human strength to stand steadfast in the storms.
But GOD! Let HIS gift of eternal life take center stage in your daily life! Be moved with zeal and compelled by the unbreakable truth that only HE is permanent…even ETERNAL!
Oh, Self! Put all your faith, trust and hope in the LAMB of GOD for HE is coming to reward those who have not diminished nor lost sight of HIS face!
Amen and amen!
