Lust as an excess is worthlessly cast as the ducks of a gambler would be.
Matters then of the Heart are left solely to Chance within Darkness where no one should breathe.
Such moments of Greed steal decades (and longer) of steps which were meant “with the LORD!”
But chose they instead those things leading to Death; living then just to die by such swords.
Regardless Desire’s most errant intentions, the Cross of CHRIST draws us the greater…
…when wholly surrendered we fall at HIS feet; wanting ONLY our heavenly SAVIOUR!

Devotional: Proverbs 28:13 “Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.”
Confession is surely one piece but it’s the turning away AND not turning back which is the other inseparable part!
Matthew 26:41 “Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
Who hasn’t heard this verse before? Often when said aloud, others bow within themselves, all too aware of their own weakness.
2 Timothy 2:22 “So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the LORD from a pure heart.”
How can one have a pure heart before GOD? By humbly and contritely confessing one’s sins and being zealous, not half baked, to forsake them all.
Easier said than done but possible indeed WITH GOD!
