1 Corinthians 15:49 “Just as we have borne the image of the earthly, we will also bear the image of the Heavenly!”
The recklessness of our emotions can shatter the windows which others see through.
The abandon of careless intentions as well can clutter the the sight of another
What we “see” then differs with every Beholder; what “face” someone shows then depends who is seen!
Consequently the actions we choose to display shows the world — over time — just in whom we believe.
If our mirror is fractured as others perceive, then distorted this surface we bring to the light!
Therefore cast off each shard and live out in the open! Transparently as the reflection of CHRIST!
As HIServant reminded to set aside Self so that HIS sovereign presence is all someone sees,
Devotional: Proverbs 27:19 “As in water face reflects face, so the heart of man reflects man.”
In the earthly, in 1 Corinthians 15:49 which we read above, we see our own faces but we don’t see our image through our brothers or sisters eyes.
Adding any negative emotion such as prideful Anger and any hurtful word filled with Sarcasm’s heights…
…so the reflection we pretend is “Crystal Clear!” is broken like a shattered fun house mirror…with jagged lines in every direction.
Consequently, although “made in HIS image”, many are choosing rather to display someone different altogether!
So a question! What day was it that Lazarus was brought back from the dead by CHRIST’s calling? The Fourth Day! (John 11)
Yes, very notably he’d risen Jarius daughter and the widow of Nain’s only son. Short term deaths and then brought back to life…miraculously and only by THE LORD!
But this was the 4th day past and Martha noted that the body stank meaning that though she likely knew JESUS had raised the other two, this was different!
“It can’t really happen!” is what our own flesh would have most likely concluded.
BUT GOD! Day Four is that most unlikely of hours when we can reflect CHRIST clearly to all!
Why? Because we will have to lean solely upon HIM to cleanse our frames from the soul inside to our outer “face” as well!
So! It’s Day Four, my Friends! It is Day Four, oh my soul! Hope abounds with HIS truths — entwined!
No matter who I was, what matters is WHOSE I am; HIS! CHRIST — my all in all!
So with sins forgiven and shame removed, my soul shall now endlessly serve my SAVIOUR WHOSE blood shed, cleansing power has eternally redeemed me!
Amen and amen!
