Passenger seats
unlike suits;
anyone can get into…
no matter their age.
Regardless of size
or of weight;
from an infant to elder…
Without cloth restraints.
So wear we too
human coverings.
While some painless,
some aren’t…
still we’re “made for rest”.
Not ours, but theirs
so we change
to accommodate them
and align with HIS ways.
Sitting sideways
won’t work then.
Yet such does our flesh
as we disobey.
But when others
“sit on us…”
while sinning yet
asking us to agree…
Since outside CHRIST,
then decline…
for if such won’t comply,
give another your “seat”.

Devotional: Proverbs 13:20 “Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.”
It’s interesting as a human behavior that our flesh always longs for agreement.
We want an elder or pastor or authority figure to put the rubber stamp of approval on whatever we’re doing.
1 Corinthians 15:33 “Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”
John 15:12 “This is MY commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.”
But many will come to us, wanting to “sit down” on us like a seat…and tell of a present sin problem that’s just like sitting sideways in the passenger side of a vehicle.
No matter how long they sit there, occupying your time, their unwillingness to sit as the seat’s designer planned… means they’ll never find the REAL rest they’re longing for!
So we all must be wise stewards and
GODly seats because our rest is sitting upon HIS lap!
Let none then steal your peace and let none “rest” sitting sideways either.
