Selectively Speaking!

Proverbs 12:18 “There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.”

Selectively Speaking!

Worthless words spoken are those misdirected. They point others backwards or sideways at best.

Such phrases — off target — then “miss the mark” wholly till spiritually errant, their end is a wreck.

Where no punctuation concludes what is written…then known is its value as “absent of worth”.

So the road (rubber hitting) is “Where do they lead?” To what or to whom flow such substance-less words?

The “simply put” answer is found in this query! “Does every word point back to CHRIST?” Ask yourselves!

Of utmost importance is how one responds so surrender your heart…above everything else!

As HIServant watching and refiltering my words through HIS own,

Devotional: Proverbs 16:24 “Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body.”

There’s a song by Hawk Nelson called “Words”. I’ll post the video below. But the most important line in the lyrics is this:

“Let my words be life,
Let my words be truth!
I don’t wanna say a word unless it points the world back to YOU!”

Look at that last line. Unless my language is ultimately pointing people to JESUS, then I’m using the WRONG words!

That includes body language too!

Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.”

So filter your tongue not just from speaking coarse language but prioritizing communications which direct others to the LORD GOD!

Be very selective with those thoughts then which fuel your all of your speech.

Proverbs 15:1 “A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.”

The Lost and Found are listening and so is The ONE WHO spoke you into existence!

Praise the LORD!

Amen and amen!
