What Man has labeled,
defining positions
has served both to
guide and distract.
As lines of dividing,
so like minds can
gather yet also it
crafts intellectual
barriers.
Thus distancing souls
from HIS simple truths
are those whose “great
study” disguises
CHRIST’s heart.
Then the Lost who
walk in; who don’t
know “the lingo”…
despair into staying
outside.
Though helpful these
terms are in part, let
us note that our LORD
never used them.
Let’s heed that HIS
words guided simply
and surely —
encouraging all who
were hearing HIS
voice.
So speak Love’s
surrender and preach
Simple’s Truth…without
clouding HIS Water
with “unneeded
stones!”

Devotional: Proverbs 10:19 “When words are many, transgression isn’t lacking, but whoever restrains his lips is wise.”
Now this may seem like I’m telling on myself. 🙂 I’ll say that for 5 years GOD put me in a desert where I couldn’t write more than 1 poem, only 1 poem…per YEAR. HE was teaching me.
When HE restored the gift to write 5 years later, it was within 4 months that HE chose to have me write 127 poems and devotionals in one month!
So I was led through Lack and taught HIS simple focus. “Write JUST about ME, your CREATOR!”
But my point HERE is different. This is a warning to refrain from needlessly clouding the simple message of the Gospel.
There’s different denominations and cults of CHRISTianity. Baptists, Methodists, Full Gospel, Wesleyan, VERSUS New Agers, Mormonism, Jehovah’s Witnesses, Scientology and more.
With the cults, the cloudy nature of their messages is intentional. But with many a church service today in “mainstream evangelical churches”, the same confusion is spewed weekly.
Some just preach “love” but totally ignore prophecy and GOD’s Justice. Some are so law-driven that the Lost flee such churches. This is because it’s a false burden just like the Pharisees daily vomited on the people.
But in those fellowships which AREN’T any of the cults above, some still push words like “Reformed” and/or have other adjectives to separate themselves from other “Fringes”.
So to start with, don’t get soooo caught up in the love of study (being really bent on confusing titles and separations)…that the gracious love of GOD disappears.
Warning then! Don’t toss about big words without simple definitions following because it only alienates just like “The Have’s” from “The Have Nots!”
It creates “vain discussions” as we read about in Titus 3:9 and while our topic isn’t an exact fit, it is definitely in the same vein.
So in our first verse, Proverbs 12:18, the word “rash” means “needless” to me for this discussion. There’s no need to throw such weighty labels around.
All they do is crush the listener who ISN’T thought of as “biblically deep” as the speaker. Therefore just speak plainly, preach truly, show HIS heart fully and always with great humility and contrition.
“Advanced Post Millennial Dispensationalism” is a mashup of two different titles I found but I hope you see the heart of this post. 🙂
