Job 11:13-15 Surrender your heart to GOD, turn to HIM in prayer, and give up your sins — even those you do in secret. Then you won’t be ashamed; you will be confident and fearless!”
Instead of ourselves, we worship THEE, LORD. Instead of these hands, we cling just to YOURS.
In place of our voice, we follow YOUR WORD. In place — for our sins, so Calvary…occurred.
Of THEE, unashamed, so stand we in faith. Blood bought DNA; amazing! YOUR grace!
We can’t and could not have sacrificed Self. How desperate we cling…then to no one else!
For we know the cost…in part, with Remorse for each step which this, our Flesh, then endorsed.
Oh! How great THOU art! LORD GOD, unto us! Thus this “Simple Self”, surrenders to CHRIST!
As HIServant surrendering daily,
Devotional: A simple rhyme for “Simple Self”. Basic because our depravity and whole need of JESUS are both unmistakable.
We consciously, subconsciously and perhaps unconsciously most of all…lean on ourselves throughout the day.
“Our” choices are a insidiously pervasive path…which simply means our flesh will choose “self” far more than not.
Human nature, they call it. So a “Simple Self” reminder to quickly bend both knees again in this hour and to dauntlessly and fearlessly arise in HIS service!
Amen and amen.
