CHRIST > us!

Isaiah 60:1 “Arise, shine; for your Light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you!”

CHRIST > us!

We are worth less than CHRIST
to each soul still in darkness
Yet priceless to HIM WHO
before…knew no sin.
Thus being our GOD
without spot nor with blemish,
HE forged us from coal as
HIS diamonds — so blessed.

Yet to every Lost traveler,
our value is absent.
When our heart’s reflection
of CHRIST points within.
As such, in the shadows
remaining yet blinded,
HIS Light does not reach them…
though through us ‘twas sent.

Being Sovereign, so sends
HE HIS message of Life
through another whose mirror
points outward, proclaiming…
HIS death, HIS burial and
then Resurrection!
Till enlightened that soul
“sees” for the first time!

But the servant whose gifting
remains in their keeping,
unseen by the sightless and
kept from the deaf;
takes another step backwards
from walking WITH HIM!
Consequently, they now
fall alone…into Need.

When in Darkness again, may all choose to surrender
the credit for all which the LORD through them shines.
May they then tear off shutters
till transformed by CHRIST
are they and those ‘round them!
Both now and forever!

As HIServant continuing to dismantle my walls,

Whitney

Devotional: It is indeed sad, even tragic, when a God given gift is used errantly. This doesn’t always mean as for evil or wayward means but also for self-serving purposes…disguised as being “freely given”.

It’s usually portrayed as HIS gift to Christians and so “middle of the road” non-committal to the rest. Regardless of apparent popularity, it can best be described as “lukewarm”. In this context, dim light at best.

And lukewarm/dim lights are confusing, not encouraging. They are indiscernible as to belonging to either the hot or the cold side. It’s shifting sand and unstable ground in a semi-lit area.

Would you feel comfortable approaching such a person for help and direction? Especially spiritually? Why then do many choose to dim their light for CHRIST?

I hear it’s to relate better. To appear more accommodating. “Meeting then in the middle”. While we go into the darkness, it’s to draw the Lost out using HIS LIGHT, not our own dim resources comparatively.

Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge HIM, and HE will make straight your paths.”

But what invariably happens is seen as a misrepresentation of who a Christian is. It blurs the dividing lines of light and dark into a convoluted grey confusion. Maybe not at first, but people quickly believe it’s fine to be lukewarm and still part of the world.

We are who we are. Set apart. Not part of this world. Not trying to enable those in shadows to still sit on the fence. Cutting off the old nature and the flesh will never completely happen till HIS return. So the fight is ever present. The struggle is very real.

But even so, how much IS an attack versus something self-inflicted? To what level is our audience “deceived” as well as to what level have we fooled ourselves? I personally have had to come to grips with my own vague stances in this life.

It boils down to GOD is pure Light and every sin is complete darkness.

Do you know what that means? Simply put, there’s no gray area…despite what the world and our own flesh tells us!

Ephesians 5:8-9 “For once you were darkness, but now you are light in the LORD! Live as children of Light, for the fruit that the Light produces consists of every form of goodness, righteousness, and truth.”

So don’t mistake the actual color of gray to mean that we can live a life that is equally diluted…meaning neither light or darkness. People can sense the odd fragrance when we’ trying to ride the fence. People that are trying to be chameleons are usually perceived negatively as such.

So be Light and only HIS Light,
oh my soul! Without schism, compromise, divide or variance, Beloved…shine only CHRIST through your life!

Amen and amen!
