Micah 6:8 “HE has made it clear to you, mortal man, what is good and what the LORD is requiring from you— to act with justice, to treasure the LORD’s gracious love, and to walk humbly in the company of your GOD.”
Daily Re-Paired for The Journey
Does the soul long for Heaven
far greater than breath?
Is the next drawn inhaling
craved more than HIS gaze?
FACE to face! Oh what
Rapture! Is then such a sight…
without any comparison
known or embraced?
Heed then, this set warning!
‘Tis meant for the Body…
sans earthly attachments
and part substitutions!
For this life, quickly fading
is far from our homeland
with every “accessory”
worthless…a choosing.
So daily re-loosen Self’s
grasp on things temporal
while clinging to CHRIST’s
finished work ever tightly!
As HE moves thus our union
draws us every forward;
wherever HE goes, so we’re
with The Almighty!
As HIServant rereading HIS WORD, retreating from self, and re-pairing with CHRIST for the Journey today,

Devotional: Consider Deuteronomy 8:6 “Observe the commands of the LORD your GOD by walking in HIS ways and by fearing HIM.”
Read HIS WORD and every command and encouragement in HIS service. It’s wonderfully simple and very clear.
Ephesians 2:10 “For we are HIS creation, created in CHRIST JESUS for good works, which GOD prepared ahead of time so that we should walk in them.”
What Sovereignty! GOD created the path and the good works to be done in HIS power…before Time. HE knew HIS own before Time in a very close and intimate way that unarguably demonstrates HIS choosing.
What have others said? “Those who walk with GOD, always reach their destination.” ― Henry Ford
“If I walk with the world, I can’t walk with GOD.” Dwight L. Moody
There’s another quote I don’t know the author of…but it says, “Don’t feel close to GOD? Who left?” While there’s many drawing near who want more of HIS presence, this is self directed most of all.
When we let go of HIS hands, we’re trying to move solely in our own efforts. Our own unfinished, incomplete, and imperfect works and “strength”.
When we set aside HIS WORD to focus on directing ourselves, we slip and fall because we aren’t stabilized in the depth of HIS footprints.
I used the word “sans” in the second verse which simply means “without”. We tend daily to get wrapped up in focuses other than JESUS. So “sans” our attentions on things below, we are by default freed to place our gaze entirely upon HIM. Above!
Think of the clarity that awaits you, oh Self! Not a focus on doing things even for HIM but singularly and intently gazing upon HIM while serving. These are two, quite different threads so that wholehearted surrender to JESUS can be accomplished.
How? By walking with HIM and watching HIS verse by verse, hourly directions. How? By separating our “accomplishments” in HIS NAME…from HIS NAME which alone is due all praise and glory.
In summary, as I’ve alluded to many times, you and I are leaves. We are carried on the winds of and by HIS SPIRIT to countless places and doing many blessed things.
At the apparent completion of such “work”, does one thank the leaf for being irresistibly compelled (blown downstream) by the SPIRIT?
Consider that HE drew us to HIMSELF, put HIS SPIRIT in us as HE had ordained to do before Time and sent us out though we resemble Jonah far more so than CHRIST.
So HE sovereignly paired with us in eternity past to be realized daily in this present moment. Therefore, do not leave HIS side or grow impatient in HIS timing. HE knows best and controls all things; working all things together for our good. Romans 8:28.
Arise, oh my soul…and cease from
your ways, departing from Self’s
path and every isolated journey.
Cling tightest to the scarred hands which bear your name and…PRESS onward repaired as
HE purposed!
Amen and amen!
