1 Peter 1:18-19 “…knowing that you were NOT redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold from your futile way of life inherited from your forefathers, but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of CHRIST.”
Our Self-less Redemption!
Oh my soul! Do not gaze as
though Grace is your due.
Do not act like CHRIST’s payment
for sin has been earned.
It is far from “transactionally
given” for efforts and
absent of asking
Perfection from you.
Needing rather and solely
HIS blood’s purchased price;
satisfying all debt for
the Many GOD chose;
so outpoured HE “first love”
drawing us to be born. Thus!
What privilege to see HIM
through child-like eyes!
So reject the Flesh linking
“self helped” with Redemption;
cast off your own thinking
my soul! Yes, Surrendered!
For THIS battle was won just
by nail-scarred hands and
Love’s heart! Thus to HIM…
give all self-less Attention!
As HIServant reminded that we
serve our risen SAVIOUR, ever giving HIM all credit, honor
Devotional: Ephesians 1:7 “In HIM we have redemption through HIS blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of HIS grace.”
HE chose HIS own for whom HE
then sent CHRIST to die for instead of we being unable to rescue ourselves; unable totally to pay sin’s debts. Such is
wholly HIS redemptive work!
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 “For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify GOD in your body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the HOLY SPIRIT WHO is in you, whom you have from GOD, and that you are not your own?”
Mark 10:45 “For even The SON of Man came not to be served, but to serve and give HIS life a ransom in the place of the Many.”
Note: Most translations just have “many” but the Aramaic Bible in Plan English properly translates
this “the many”…HIS chosen vessels. HIS sheep, irrevocably called before Time.
Romans 5:19 “For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of The ONE man the Many will be made righteous.”
Notice the “The” before “many”. This is not an error. It is a clear separation of WHOSE child we are…set apart from before Time by CHRIST. Consider joyously the next three passages afresh!
John 6:37 “Everyone whom MY FATHER has given ME shall come to ME, and whoever will come to ME I shall not cast out.”
John 6:44 “No one can come to ME unless the FATHER WHO sent ME draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day.”
Ephesians 4:30 “Do not grieve the HOLY SPIRIT of GOD, by WHOM you were sealed for the day of redemption.”
Sealed! Oh, how I love to proclaim it! No one and nothing including our frail flesh can un-redeem our souls.
John 10:27-29 “MY sheep listen to MY voice; I know them, and they follow ME. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them out of MY hand. MY FATHER WHO has given them to ME is greater than all. No one can snatch them out of MY FATHER’s hand.”
We can’t hear, much less receive HIM, unless HE had already
chosen us and and HIS sheep,
we eventually recognize and
Again John 6:37. We are an undeniable, irrevocable gift from GOD the FATHER to CHRIST the SON!
Consider what James Elliot said: “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose.” Philip James Elliot (October 8, 1927 – January 8, 1956) was an evangelical Christian who was one of five missionaries killed while participating in Operation Auca, an attempt to evangelize the Huaorani people of Ecuador.
Prayerfully I trust you can see by reading HIS verses that any one pronouncing judgment against you,
not forgiving you though CHRIST clearly has, is in error.
What a reminder to us! Forgive freely as you have been freely forgiven.
Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in
CHRIST GOD forgave you.”
Lastly, Beloved…given the eternal foundation which GOD HIMSELF built for and set us solidly upon, not able to lose our REDEMPTION as we clearly read in the above verses, set your affections and ATTENTIONS on things above! (Colossians 3:2)
With HIS irrefutable, “un-loseble” eternal security through CHRIST’s
shed blood for the Self-less Redemption of HIS own, looking upwards for HIS soon return, we serve HIM then completely and relentlessly!
But what about Philippians 2:12. Don’t I have to earn and work out my own salvation?
First…Faith, Redemption and Salvation are all gifts from GOD. Second, GOD makes clear distinction between Redemption and Salvation. They are just two words you can swap out seamlessly. Grace saved us alone.
So those translations which insinuate and suggest that you have to earn heaven may not have intended that interpretation but!! Many blindly quote it nonetheless.
Again consider the Aramaic Bible in Plain English. The Hebrew-Aramaic is the original language HIS WORD was scribed in.
Philippians 2:12 “Therefore beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not when I am near to you only, but now when I am far from you, all the more, with awe and with trembling, do the service of your life!”
Do the service of your life, for CHRIST!
Surrender all! So, with HIS eternal promise to never leave nor forsake us, then run!
Philippians 3:14 “And I run…toward the goal to take the victory of the calling of GOD from on high in YESHUA The MESSIAH.”
Amen and amen!
