Proverbs 9:10 “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.”
Heal us with Wisdom,
these wounds bind with Joy.
Seal Truth to each heart
till THY will we join.
Be patient, we pray;
these days a few more
while waiting on THEE,
our SAVIOUR and LORD.
Break then our shackles;
wash all fears away.
Tear Doubt from our souls
till lightened — these frames!
Rising with Rapture;
uplifted with praise,
outpoured so we sing!
Hallelujah! HE reigns!
As HIServant soaring free because HE lives,
Devotional: James 3:17 “But the wisdom that is from above is first pure (perfectly cleansed and clear), then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, (easy to ask for earnestly from CHRIST) full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality (only favoring some), and without hypocrisy.” (without acting / displaying as if we know more and are better)
Fearing the LORD with great awe and reverence is the foundation block for being truly wise. Without sincere humility and respect to and of our CREATOR, Wisdom shall escape us. Consider Job 28:28.
“And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the LORD, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.”
Yet many of today’s Pharisee-minded are flaunting mankind’s very limited knowledge. (compared to GOD’s.) To be certain, the resources available online are seemingly endless and many can string together a sermon with comparable Bible verses.
But if it is preached without Love, if it is delivered without a humble fear of the LORD, then it is both foolish and falsely offered. None truly gain from the heart of GOD’s WORD when the speaker’s heart marches to the beat of a different drum. (To the “Wisdom” of Self)
Consider Proverbs 10:21 as another anchor verse concerning this truth.
”The lips of the righteous feed many, but fools die for lack of wisdom.”
So we see the blind leading the blind and fools leading others fools fixated and errantly focused not by Faith but rather by their own sight and itching ears.
So we connect the dots with Psalm 111:10. “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do HIS commandments: his praise endures forever.”
To share HIS Good News as HE instructs us, one must break off every shackle of Self assessed, Self interest. For the Fear of the LORD to take route in our souls, we must die to self daily.
Many are our own errors and failings but even the slightest air of Superiority and Contempt can hinder CHRIST’s freedom being realized in the lives of the Lost and Found.
Breathe in then, oh Self, Wisdom’s oxygen…and breathe out only HIS WORD with great humility, fear and zeal! Amen and amen!
