Colossians 3:6-7, 16 “For which things’ sake the wrath of GOD cometh on the children of disobedience: In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
Crawl, Build, Soar!
As infants HE birthed from such sovereign designs, so our entrance to life occurred twice.
Once when our physical breath first began and the second when learned we of CHRIST.
When our spiritual lungs inhaled Wisdom’s beginnings, then were both our hearts and these eyes opened wide!
By GOD apprehended, intentionally bound, as HIServants and children thus filled with HIS light!
So HE builds from our youthful positions — HIS temples; From one room abodes which HIS mansions unite!
Grown from babies and milk into eagles consuming the meat of HIS WORD, so we soar — ever bright!
As HIServant pointing all to HIS Heavenly Light,
Devotional: Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of CHRIST dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the LORD.”
The older we age and the longer we read HIS WORD, the more knowledge we gain though re-reading through same pages.
It’s like HE says when we were newborn babies in CHRIST. Our view was simple and our acceptance — sincere.
However, though our depth of spiritual wisdom wasn’t yet an inch, we had already tasted HIS presence richly.
For we were drawn and came to HIM as what we were…little children. Just toddlers. Infants. Babes in CHRIST.
But as we grow, building up our knowledge of our SAVIOUR, we begin to connect our “one room” temples to others of like zeal and faith.
1 Corinthians 6:19 “Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the HOLY SPIRIT, WHO lives in you and was given to you by GOD? You do not belong to yourself…”
So as we grow we must separate ourselves from other earthly housing which detracts from CHRIST. Such human dwellings often tear at as well as rot our framing.
2 Corinthians 6:17 “Therefore come out from their midst and be separate, says the LORD, and touch nothing unclean, and I will receive you.”
These close knit and spiritually intimate “structures” then create countless examples of the Church “body of believers.” Though collections of digressing and decaying “temples” sit in many a church service today, be clearly known as HIS “called out” ones!
So from infancy to growing believer to mature “eagle”, we each can rest in awaiting that perfect temple and mansion above. Heaven!
Thank YOU, LORD, for YOUR firm foundation and blessed promises!
Amen and amen!
