2 Corinthians 4:6 “For GOD, WHO said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made HIS light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of GOD in the face of JESUS CHRIST.”
Free Will Offerings!
Preaching CHRIST is not a sales pitch as some perceive HIS message.
It’s not as if persuasive speech is all one needs to be converted.
JESUS said to Peter plainly that HIS FATHER’s choice — revealing
was the reason Flesh accepted that HE is the SON of GOD.
Now to some, this sovereign action, may appear a passive option.
But HE tells us that good works were planned uniquely for our vessels.
Long before Time breathed at first and in advance of our creation,
certain gifts would fill our frames and purposed actions would be followed.
For HE knows the way we take; Almighty GOD — our risen SAVIOUR!
Through WHOSE SPIRIT comes our comfort, grave conviction and great Zeal!
Drawing us unto HIMSELF through gifts which HE will not revoke,
so HE operates through servants to impart the FATHER’s Wisdom.
So! When we “see The Lightning”, CHRIST’s unveiled face retrieves us.
HE transforms our wandering hearts to then accept HIS righteous NAME!
Now HIM we preach alone, seed planting and delivering water,
with these jars designed from clay and preordained by GOD, our Potter!
As HIServant and clay vessel also,
Devotional: Matthew 16:17 “And JESUS responded, “Simon, son of Jonah, you are blessed because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but MY FATHER in heaven.”
When Peter answered CHRIST’s question of WHO he thought CHRIST was, we see his answer I’m verse 16. “Simon Peter answered, “YOU are the MESSIAH, the SON of the living GOD!”
Again in 2 Corinthians 4:6 we read that GOD the FATHER made HIS light to shine in our hearts! Made!
Before, in verses 3 and 4, we see that the god of this world, satan, has blinded the hearts of them that are perishing. So GOD’s choice to open the eyes and hearts of HIS children is indeed priceless…at any age.
So! Given that we now see JESUS and have been given the invaluable knowledge of our SAVIOUR / CREATOR, we can give back without any hindrance. Without any restraint!
Psalms 54:6 With a freewill-offering will I sacrifice unto THEE: I will give thanks unto THY name, O JEHOVAH, for it is good.”
YOU are the only GOD, wise and true. Accept our unconstrained gifts of service and praise as we willingly bow before YOUR throne of Grace!
Psalm 54:6-7 “Willingly I will sacrifice to YOU; I will give thanks to YOUR name, O LORD, for it is good. For HE has delivered me from all trouble, and my eye has looked with satisfaction upon my enemies.”
Two concluding thoughts to embrace:
First: Even when free-will offerings were brought, they still had conditions. I couldn’t bring a sick or blemished lamb to sacrifice, only the best I had.
AND! Even then, as we read in Hebrews 9:13-10:18, our best wasn’t, still isn’t and never can be “good enough”. Verse 22 of Hebrews 9 states “And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.” No forgiveness! No mediator!
Then in Hebrews 10:4 we see this plainly stated. “For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.”
Again the very act is imperfect…regardless of whether the animal was blemished or not. So we rejoice in verses 14 and 18. Essentially the whole chapter!
“For by one offering HE haS perfected forever them that are sanctified.” And “Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin!”
Free indeed then to serve relentlessly, sacrificially and joyously in all situations!
Amen and amen!
Second: When we were initially placed upon The Potter’s wheel, what were we? A lump of unformed clay. What did HE do? Breathed life into us and began to transform us into vessels for HIS service.
We are equally loved and cherished in our unformed state as well as our final form before Heaven. But knowing HE paid it all and chose to open the eyes of our heart in order to taste and embrace HIS salvation, so we have nothing holding back our praise of GOD except ourselves!
Therefore freely give HIM all the praise, honor and glory for HE has freely given you HIS grace and eternal life!
Amen and amen!
