Power (of GOD) Walking!

1 Peter 2:21 “For to this you were called, because CHRIST also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in HIS footsteps…”

Power (of GOD) Walking!

Hell’s poisonous serpent

shall poison us surely

IF we be asleep —

apathetically found.

IF stagnant — unwary — uncaringly lukewarm;

IF walking on fence posts,

on uncertain ground!

But we are Victorious

SINCE HE is our VICTOR!

Our lives have no shackles

SINCE CHRIST owns the Keys!

Rejoice then — most zealous

SINCE GOD’s steps are sovereign!

IN such, we crush satan…

so STAND…with your KING!

As HIServant secured in the depth of HIS footprints which restrain me from slipping,

Devotional: 1 John 2:6 The one who says he resides in GOD ought himself to walk just as JESUS walked.”

When someone preaches about walking in HIS steps, human nature usually envisions long term comforts and short term pains.

But our example is CHRIST and even in pain for HIS NAMEsake, we can rejoice! I’ll repeat the end to a poem HE gave me many years ago.

“Beloved, we must count it a blessing, a privilege and a pleasure…to suffer for the NAME of CHRIST.”

Consider that the easy path bears no fruit which is relatable.  Put another way, without acknowledging CHRIST’s sovereign will which transforms us through sacrifice, we cannot truly provide the hope and the footsteps of JESUS to others…just as we have been purposed. Consider the following quote:

“If I walk with the world, I can’t walk with GOD.”  Dwight L. Moody

If my steps prove that I avoid HIS, then I am walking with…the world.

If my heart seeks no increasing, daily depth in the WORD, coupled with significant, willing sacrifice to get there….then by default my heart favors the shallowness of this life more.

The facts simply don’t lie. No matter how much we insert “doing things for GOD”, these things pale compared to living and breathing HIM daily. We cannot mistake our involvement with Godly activities for the accomplishment of a hard fought race through this life, pressing into HIS presence.

Micah 6:8 “HE has made it clear to you, mortal man, what is good and what the LORD is requiring from you — to act with justice, to treasure the LORD’s gracious love, and to walk humbly in the company of your GOD.”

Treasuring HIS love being. Humble and Contrite. Reverent and Broken. Zealous and Surrendered.

Isaiah 66:2 “All these things MY hand has made, and so all these things came to be, declares the LORD.  But this is the one to whom I will look: he who is humble and contrite in spirit and trembles at MY WORD.”.

The question then is what or WHO is the exclusive source of our Hope? What or with whom do we spend more time?

Track your time. Not those which are “JESUS-centric” and just that which is wholly focused on THE LORD. I’m referring deep study, lots of cross-referencing Scripture, NOT listening to someone’s sermon as “high quality time one-on-ONE” with GOD.”

Please hear me. Reinvesting extra-curricular events, TV, hobby, social time etc…to just feast on HIS WORD…pays off handsomely. In the forms of Peace, Security, Joy, and much more…the very precious words of Scripture never return back to HIM void.

Isaiah 55:10-11 “For just as rain and snow fall from heaven and do not return without watering the earth, making it bud and sprout, and providing seed to sow and food to eat, 11 so MY WORD that proceeds from MY mouth will not return to ME empty (void), but it will accomplish what I please, and it will prosper where I send it.

1 Timothy 4:16 “Pay attention to your soul and to your teachings; persevere in them, (walk in the power of GOD) for when you do these things you will bring life to your soul and to those who hear you!”

Feast then on every line and verse of the Bible by digesting it directly.

Take HIM at HIS WORD then and prepare for your cup’s overflowing!

Amen and amen!
