Disrobing Regret!

Ecclesiastes 5:20 “They seldom reflect on the days of their life, because GOD keeps them occupied with gladness of heart.”

Disrobing Regret!

Regret is a well worn and drenched blanket…with huge holes in it. On only the coldest of proverbial winter nights it is pulled out…and then thrown atop a most grieving soul.

Thread bare so that no warmth would ever be gained by its presence, so each of its torn gaps adds further insult to injury.

For no patchwork can be done to this poor stand-in for a comforting cover.

It can only serve as a painful recollection of the past, before the thread which had sewn the Memory together…had been reduced to a useless and oversized rag.

But GOD! The answer to its abrupt appearances, whenever they suddenly impact our heart and mind — unannounced…is in HIS WORD!

There we read of HIS gracious and loving arms and the warmth of HIS heart for ours which nears — frozen!

There we observe once more that HE has paid the price for us and given us a new name and the spotless and perfect robe of HIS righteousness!!

THAT Robe — spotlessly sewn and woven without hands — is HIS given truth and our present spiritual covering as well!

All Regret then is erased! All “looking back” then — destroyed! Embrace the LORD within YOU and then rest…in the warmth of HIS seamless robe!

As HIServant casting off the worthless rags of Regret to rest in HIS robes of Righteousness,

Devotional: Romans 20:24: “However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the LORD JESUS has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of GOD’s grace.”

To have such focus, one must be looking forward diligently. As demonic oppression tells us to look backwards, tells us to stay in the rear view mirror…GOD says to look up and walk forward!

So wear HIS robe, hear HIS voice, walk forward in HIS steps and REST in HIS Love!

Amen and amen!
