Trust in the LORD

so shout now HIS praise

As those teardrops which fall

Devotional: Matthew 27:35 “Then they crucified HIM, and divided HIS garments, casting lots, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet: “They divided MY garments among them, and for MY clothing they cast lots.”
Did you know the robe of CHRIST was seamless?
The soldiers cast lots for it (gambled) because as Benson noted “His coat was excepted out of this division, because, as it was without seam, they agreed to cast lots for it by itself.”
What might that analogy tell us?
Just as I cannot add my works (which incidentally, all good works I do were appointed to me before the foundation of the world by HIM…so HE gets the credit for those too) but there’s nothing added to a seamless robe!
Just CHRIST! HE is the ALPHA and the OMEGA in every sense!
Matthew 22:11 “But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw a man who was not wearing wedding garments.”
That man is every soul without CHRIST’s given (not earned) wedding garments!
So! Discard your filthy robe-like rags, oh my soul…and rest in the robes of HIS righteousness — seamlessly sown!
HIS robe is uniquely fit and perfectly fitted for you!! Praise the LORD!
