The Impossible Con!
When protection against other
forces — mislabeled,
Deception then reigns with
Intentions — misguided.
How favorable thus one’s desired results
when their goal is — misstated?
What good comes from such?
No example proves greater than
Calvary’s cross-section
where those given power chose
themselves for cross reference.
Deceiving the masses, just trusting in self;
by none once cross examined
with faith in none else.
So then? What was their crime?
What was their grave mistake?
Was it fleecing the flock…by their greed
— so misshapen?
No! ‘Twas “guarding CHRIST’s tomb”
as if keeping inside
HE WHOSE mission — To Save!
HE WHOSE steps lead to Life!
Owning keys over Death, so it could
not constrain HIM!
As such, hell’s intent — long ago
knelt — “Condemned!”
So their claim to “stop robbery”
confirms and convicts them!
for they tried to block CHRIST’s
great Victory o’er sin!

Devotional: Matthew 27:62-64 “Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate,
Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.
Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest HIS disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.”
Tetelestai! Tetelestai! Hallelujah!
Here in Matthew we read that the chief priests and the Pharisee’s demanded the Tomb be guarded. BUT!
It was only a demonic gesture… attempting to keep GOD’s the treasure of HIS SON within, not to keep robbers out!
It was solely meant (yet totally failed) to have “The Greatest Story ever Told” end without the Resurrection!
That’s why it was the impossible con! Our GOD sent HIS only begotten SON to be our SAVIOUR WHO paid the price for all our sins!
Even the very next verse gives us such comfort! Verse 65 “Pilate said to them, “You have a guard; go your way, make it as secure as you know how.”
They did the best that man and evil could possibly do…and they still failed — eternally! Thank YOU, LORD!
Also, what irony that it’s GOD’s power alone that keeps us in HIS hands and JESUS in our hearts! What security!
So don’t listen to hell’s whispers or shouts stating anything contrary! CHRIST is alive and HE’s coming back very soon!
Arise, Beloved, arise…because HE already has! Amen and amen!
