Matthew 24:44 “Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”
The second hand hurries! The minute hand flies; the hour hand points to this moment…
…where second hand thoughts and minutia abound; yet our focus must center on Time.
For now we do well to attend to HIS WORD where HIS warnings of Love are most timely — Today.
So! Broken, contrite, whole surrendered and set shall, as sheep of HIS folds, we be found at The Gate!

Devotional: Matthew 24:45-46 “Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his MASTER made ruler over HIS household, to give them food in due season? 46 Blessed is that servant whom his MASTER, when HE comes, will find so doing.”
The phrases “at the ready” or “ready at a Moment’s notice” convey a wonderful picture of “active waiting”.
Perhaps that seems such a contradiction to pair those two words together. But there’s two images I want to give you — Today.
First, as sheep who hear the FATHER’s voice, we are not to be busy with the cares of this life to the point we’re AWAY from the small gate and our CHRIST — the narrow Way.
I envision us each as actively resting our head on HIS chest as HE “waits” for the FATHER’s call to “Go get YOUR bride!” Us!
All the while we preach, teach and serve HIM solely and presently!
We find the second image in Luke 12:37.
Blessed are those servants whom The MASTER finds on watch when HE returns. Truly I tell you, HE will dress HIMSELF to serve and will have them recline at the table, and HE HIMSELF will come and wait on them.”
For those HE finds presently serving others and actively waiting upon HIM…wow!
HE, the KING of Glory, will turn and actively wait on us — serving us from HIS Hands!
So press into those sovereign Hands with excitement, zeal and urgency because…
The only wise and eternal KING, our LORD GOD…
…is coming!
