Hebrews 12:11 “For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.”
With Reverence, Returning…
Returning to Terra, to rest in HIS stable, so came I again to the Gate of Instruction; that paddock — secured —- where my MASTER had bound me. There — once again standing in place — were my hooves.
Having tasted HIS Freedom for decades of running, yea, more than these years which I’d already known: so Reflection o’erwhelmed me. As such, I stood silent…with solemn regrets yet with tribute — more so.
“LORD GOD!”, with tears falling, “YOUR servant is grateful! How easily lost all my thoughts might have stayed! Were it not for YOUR loving correction and binding, then “wandering still” I would be — in my stains!”
Thus reminded by Time which aligns with YOUR scriptures, I bow in THY presence — YOUR paths to be shown; to go out once more to these fields surrounding — both preaching and leading the unbroken — home.
So was I once prior — to THY will adjusting! So thank YOU, LORD JESUS! YOUR bondservant lives…for this service assigned me. Yes, such is my pleasure since YOUR blood redeemed from running with Sin!
In this respite, thus pausing, I bent without movement so every attention of Self would
be chained…
to YOUR gate in remembrance! How great then Love’s favor whose Crimson flows through me to serve in THY NAME!
As HIServant in your service pausing with solemn remembrance and great gratitude,
Whitney
Devotional: 1 Corinthians 9:24 “Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it!”
Many years ago I wrote a poem called “The MASTER’s stable.” This poem is a follow up of immense thankfulness and gratitude to our LORD and SAVIOUR for “binding me to HIS gate to learn“.
Psalm 91:2 “I will say of the
LORD, “HE is my Refuge and
my Fortress, my GOD, in WHOM
I trust.”
We must come back to the MASTER’s Stable each and every day to be feed by HIS WORD and with great reverence and Gratitude…give HIM thanks for all of HIS endless and compassionate guidance.
So pause and reflect upon HIS ways and HIS NAME! Run the race set before you without wavering and daily return to give HIM all the glory!
Amen and amen!
