Romans 10:17 “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the WORD of CHRIST!”
HIS Spoken Arms — Uplifting!
Their eyes scanned each page;
desperate for the right words
which were already printed —
though still bound within.
Locked inside of hearts fractured
yet searched they — relentless.
Expectant for phrases both soothing
Through scars being formed
which were clouding their vision,
with tears freely falling,
o’erflooding their faith…
…there they fell in the aisle
with hopes fading, yet praying.
On trembling, bent knees so
they cried before GOD!
Without strength for that day
nor with Sight for tomorrow,
still found in one hand was their
T’was a card within several
that fell down beside them;
that messenger’s “voice”
now gracing their soul!
Yea! Scripture uplifting —
With blessed Assurance,
with words of revival.
Refueling their Joy in the LORD,
thus CHRIST touched them…
with just one verse written!
With words…only heard.
There what sight could not find,
GOD breathed through a recording…
which trumpeted truth!
“I AM coming…for you!”
As HIServant greatly revived and thankfully tasked with the same,
1 Thessalonians 5:24 “Faithful is HE WHO calls you, and HE shall also bring it to pass!”
Standing in the greeting card aisle recently, this thought presented itself.
People with varying heartaches and heartbreaks come to this aisle.
Joining them are the friends of newlyweds, birthday celebrators, co-workers of someone who has achieved a significant milestone.
But those in anguish and with angst are the most fervent seekers.
The words they long to hear are most often for another but how many broken come themselves, seeking hope within an array of decorated, cardboard messages?
Hebrews 10:23 “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for HE WHO promised is faithful!”
So, I envisioned a soul, bruised and broken up by the world, trying to find help in the Hope section of the store.
Frustrated and wearied by their fruitless efforts, they slip to the floor dragging some cards off the shelves as well.
But rather than seeing silent tears or feeling the clenched hands of Defeat, this languishing servant heard Heaven’s sounds of refreshing!
For beside them an audio card had fell — open; proclaiming GOD’s words — ones they’d desperately longed for…
“For I, the LORD your GOD, hold your right hand; it is I WHO says to you, “Fear not, I am the ONE WHO helps you!” (Isaiah 41:13)
Amen and amen!
