Luke 23:34 “FATHER, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.”
Forgiving the Scorn-caster!

Scorn-casters mirror the
Storm-chasers zeal in how
quickly they rush to the
Center’s attention.
Ever notice their speed
to find fault-filled dark
clouds and spew out
their opinions on all
who “should” listen?
Create they such weather
then blame others for it;
Such cycles they churn
while acting like victims.
Around and around as
a merry-go-round so
they offcast their hate
by belittling others.
Kind-less and spiteful,
Scorn’s heights these reach
daily with carnage aplenty…
such stand in my way.
But before Flesh responded,
my LORD intervened.
“Child, put down your revenge
and draw near unto ME!
You fought and re-mocked
ME…that’s how you reacted
though you wouldn’t call it
as blunt as I am.
So MY words of instruction are
“Love these Scorn-casters!
Show kindness to those who
are lost in their storms!
Just as I spoke to you when
your heart was against ME:
when your every thought
compelled actions — adverse.
So kindly restrain and retrain your tongue’s speech by remembering Calvary…where I rescued you!
As HIServant disavowing my scorn-casting urges in light of my LORD’s love,

Devotional: Daniel 9:9 “The LORD our GOD is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against HIM.”
Mark 11:25 “And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your FATHER also WHO is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”
Colossians 3:13 “Bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the LORD has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.”
Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as GOD in CHRIST forgave you.”
The most well known and anticipated passage to see here is found in Luke 6:27-46.
It’s about turning the other cheek; responding by turning away from attacking in return.
What we see clearly is that we aren’t worthy of the shed crimson love of CHRIST. Our flesh, without HIS intervention, never could have chosen HIM.
So! For both the Lost AND the Found who sadly choose the Scorn-casters’ role, the LORD reminds us of whose example to follow.
HIS.
Show love then, oh my soul, especially when such attackers choose to repeat themselves daily.
Thank YOU for loving me, LORD JESUS!
Amen and amen.
