RE-lentless & RE-Silent!
Good works and great
deeds, no matter their
depths and regardless
the needs…
…must yet remain silent.
Clothed quietly — all —
without praise, accolades
or recalls.
For such are GOD’s gifts
for us to walk in without
credit to Self.
For most blessed then
are we when taking no
bow! Absentees from
the stage’s spotlights!
RE-Silent today,
then let us be found
unwanting of Notice…
For this pattern HE gave
so we would be saved
from the theft of HIS
credit — each day!

Devotional: Here’s two passages for us to take note of. First: Luke 17:7-10
“7 And which of you, having a servant plowing or tending sheep, will say to him when he has come in from the field, ‘Come at once and sit down to eat’?”
“8 But will he not rather say to him, ‘Prepare something for my supper, and gird yourself and serve me till I have eaten and drunk, and afterward you will eat and drink’?”
“9 Does he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I think not.
“10 So likewise you, when you have done all those things which you are commanded, say, ‘We are unprofitable servants. We have done what was our duty to do.”
Secondly, Matthew 6:1-4. “Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your FATHER in heaven.”
“2 Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men.
Assuredly, I say to you, they have
their reward.”
“3 But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing…
“4 that your charitable deed may be
in secret; and your FATHER who
sees in secret will HIMSELF reward you openly.”
Ephesians 2:10 is also well known and we’ll tie these three together.
“For we are HIS workmanship, created in CHRIST JESUS for good works, which GOD prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
Simply put, daily helping others isn’t the brainchild of Self.
For the CHRISTian, it’s HIS compulsions which we either
RE-flect or RE-ject.
And for all those efforts we RE-flect, embracing HIS will for us, we’re too RE-main quiet, even silent…taking
no credit.
For what we do here, those RE-wards we are storing up, are in Heaven.
So being anonymously RE-silent
AND RE-silient; then let us serve
RE-lentlessly in the paths set before
us till HE comes!
