Root Commands!

Hebrews 6:1a “Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of CHRIST and go on to maturity…”

Root Commands!!

When two letters of unbelief are subtracted, and three are added, it then makes a huge difference in its definition.

Replacing “un” with “dis” takes simple ignorance of something and turns it into intentional rejection.

Our root word is “belief” and regarding faith in CHRIST JESUS, we add our efforts which show we DO believe!

So how important it is to listen to the response of the Lost!

For many, it’s a lack of knowledge which, when the Gospel is humbly shared, the HOLY SPIRIT supplies.

That’s Unbelief joyously being led into Belief of the only wise GOD our SAVIOUR.

But for the rest, those disbelieving, there’s movement.

Rather than taking the opportunity to surrender to GOD….

now it changes to them — rejecting HIM.

So while “Words matter!”, prefixes can prove even more important!

Bottom line: Let us quickly follow HIS root command to whole-heartedly believe and grow deeper in JESUS every day!

As HIServant so very thankful to have been apprehended from both unbelief and disbelief to now call on HIS glorious NAME,

Whitney

Devotional: Root words, just like root commands, are foundational.

“Un-“ and “Dis-“ are just prefixes which are meaningless when  standing alone.

Yet too often we incorrectly choose by adding these detracting partial words to the front of actual ones. So!

Regarding the Cross of CHRIST, whenever a neutral “lack of knowledge” status morphs into a “dead set against” position…

…when Unbelief transforms into Disbelief, then one sadly draws a line in the sand — intentionally separate from Faith in the LORD!

Jude 1:3 “Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.”

So we must press in more each day in our love relationship with GOD.

But the devil fights constantly to tear us away from the Faith so our necessary response is described here in Jude as “contending for the Faith!”

As such, fight forward for it and against the poison of Disbelief which satan tries to get CHRISTians to embrace!

Consequently, speaking to myself most of all, we MUST maintain but also  GROW deeply in the grace and knowledge of our LORD JESUS CHRIST!

2 Peter 3:17-18 “You therefore, beloved, since you know this beforehand, beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked;

18 but GROW in the grace AND knowledge of our LORD JESUS CHRIST.

To HIM be the glory both now and forever. Amen!”

And amen!
