praise YOUR NAME.

KING; LORD of all…
and everything.
Here outpoured our
gifts and talents are
before YOUR NAME.
Seen then our works YOU
authored…(as planned for
those YOU fathered)
…to be sovereign
threaded blessings,
just as YOU designed.
As commissioned and
hand-sewn, such
actions bless us also!
So in those “works”
YOU’ve purposed we
walk — just as YOU
assigned!

Devotional: Colossians 3:23-24 “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the LORD and not for men, knowing that from the LORD you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the LORD CHRIST.”
One common question arises for anyone curious, especially every CHRISTian.
“Since JESUS stated “It is Finished!” on the Cross, and since HE solely “paid it all”…
…and because we can’t’ add any of our own flawed works to Calvary…what’s the need for us to do anything else?”
This is a great question and also one that gets entwined with confusion as such.
We read Matthew 5:20. “For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.”
THAT righteousness is untainted, unstained and pure in every way because it’s CHRIST’s — ALONE!
Hallelujah! Heaven’s LAMB and Glory’s KING is eternally spotless and forever cleansed our filthy souls!
Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of GOD, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”
So THAT work is done! We can’t earn nor add to HIS…in any way. Amen?
But there ARE efforts we are meant to undertake! In other words, or in this case, “in other works”…we are expected to do as JESUS did.
Not to earn Heaven (because we can’t) but to walk in HIS footsteps: living, giving and serving others which is our due service since HE took our places on Calvary’s Cross!
Matthew 5:16 “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your FATHER WHO is in heaven.”
These are the actions which HE rewards us here and will in Heaven. In fact, when HE comes, HE said HIS reward will be with HIM!
Revelation 22:12 “And behold, I am coming quickly, and MY reward is with ME, to give to every one according to his work.”
Our works…matter!
NOT to get into Heaven but as the doubly benefiting actions which HE uses to bless both giver and receiver. Oh Hallelujah indeed!
HE sent disciples all over to share the GOOD NEWS. To reach, preach, encourage, correct and love in the NAME of CHRIST.
As we are HIS bride, our personal actions and heart’s intent must demonstrate a greater longing and a closer walking with HIM.
By lovingly serving in these “other works”, we show our desire and respect for our Bridegroom.
Serve then, oh Self, relentlessly!
