Pride’s Un-dwelling

Proverbs 13:10 ”Where there is strife, there is pride, but Wisdom is found in those who take advice.”

Pride’s Un-dwelling

Unconvinced by sin’s memories which insistently press,
so we’re NOT our past scars since
our wounds CHRIST dispensed.

Cleansing souls upon Calvary, as such, we are flawless!
Stained solely by crimson so…. HIS verdict is “Faultless!”

Then no errant “scar seeking” endeavors should drive us…
for such pre-intervention reminders just blind us!

By foregoing what’s lesser and “better than” thinking…by HIS gracious indwelling which leads us — forgiving;

There’s no need to repeat then Sin’s detailed history; not for others or
Self…nor for anyone listening!

Then as “building block” servants
upon HIS foundation, our homes shall be known as Pride’s greatest un-dwelling!

As HIServant daily bent on evicting all Pride from Self’s house,

Devotional: James 4:6, 10“ But HE gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “GOD opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”,

“Humble yourselves before the LORD, and HE will lift you up.”

Consequently: Pride, contempt, superiority, selfishness, and more lead the parade of Self.

It’s often sadly thought of as “a personal right” to push back hard against others, sometimes just believing that it’s a righteous zeal.

But an unmodified look into CHRIST’s WORD and HIS face immediately contradicts our self righteousness.

Wisdom’s presence then is the result from the removal of Pride so that HIS light and life are clearest seen within us.

Philippians 2:3 “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.”

So it’s an always “first of the morning”, conscious choice we must make.

Proverbs 16:19 “Better to be lowly in spirit along with the oppressed than to share plunder with the proud.”

Spoken to Self most of all, we must daily and deliberately reflect… ONLY JESUS.

Then HIS welcomed and righteous indwelling of us will ensure “Pride’s un-dwelling” status.

Teach us, oh LORD, and seal such Wisdom to our hearts!

Amen and amen.
