Galatians 6:2 “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law (and love) of CHRIST.”
Burden Bearing Extensions!
We’re called to carry
Each other’s burdens…
yet sometimes see others
as burdens as well.
So we lift to a point
still short of fulfillment
and “not long enough”
with meaningful help.
Oh, the gain we all seek
is to lay down ourselves
and Life’s cancerous baggage
and grieving until…
…there’s new breath in our lungs!
Yea, what gifts – sacrificial.
As such, “Carry on!” till
you’ve freed…someone else.

As HIServant reminded and reminding that carrying others burdens isn’t to be a lackluster momentary or decreasing, intermittent action,

Devotional: Matthew 5:41 “And if anyone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. Some translations use the word, “compels” instead of “forces” but there’s purpose behind the word “force”.
The analogy was that an occupying enemy soldier could force a prisoner to carry their gear. So!
Under force even, we are told to go “the extra mile”. How much more so then…without force…should we sacrificially go for others!
Now…there are many who take advantage. This is something we discern through prayer and study.
But so many more are needing us to cross the road with them, get on the bus and then help them into their house.
However, the biggest reason “less than” occurs is because of ones’ internal reviews.
“Don’t have enough money, don’t have enough strength, don’t have enough time”, and you fill in the others.
We can’t take on everyone else’s burdens but we are designed by GOD to do our best for those we DO take on.
So the cry, “Carry on!” takes on new meaning for me today.
It’s a summons to go until another’s rest is fully evident in that moment.
Not necessarily a baton hand off to another person to partly and partially carry.
Look at it this way, oh my Soul! Let’s not just walk an elderly person to the middle of the street but get them across and onto a bus they’re desperately trying to catch.
Isn’t that the point of carrying each other’s burdens?
Ask questions, be discerning but go the extra mile
…and be the fulfilling light for others that GOD put in you to fully SHARE!
Amen and amen.
