Gaining Self Control!

2 Timothy 1:7 For GOD gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and…self-control.”

Gaining Self Control!

What breaks Self-control
the most often?
What is its direction when Failure succeeds?

Is there found any pattern which greatly destroys it?

What question is missing?
Yes! What should it be?

In a word! Pride is guilty
as charged…
and followed closely by Doubt in GOD’s promise.

So this infamous pair, with great subtlety plagues us!

“What then?” is the question which frustrates the soul!

For! Confession’s sheer repetition is loathed by each Self as great weakness – exposed!

Such extended disaster then tears up their conscience

…for not “being able” to stem Wayward’s flow!

But there’s guaranteed Hope through CHRIST’s blood;
Fervent faith in HIS NAME filled with grace is enough!

Consequently HIS payment, THE SOURCE that’s required…

controls and gives freedom to all who inquire!

As HIServant pointing the broken and contrite to the ONE WHOSE work saved us is finished and free,

Devotional: Titus 2:2-6 “Older men are to be sober-minded, dignified, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, and in steadfastness.”

3 “Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good,”

4 “and so train the young women to love their husbands and children,”

5 “to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of GOD may not be reviled.”

6 “Likewise, urge the younger men to be self-controlled.”

Young and old, male and female.

Practice and pursue self control are clearly instructed here by GOD.

Sometimes the same sin enslaves a weak CHRISTian.

Where a stronger believer would sincerely and wholly confess, not allowing guilt to excessively bind them,

the weaker vessel regrets.

However, such also regress further in their walk — truly loving GOD yet uncomprehending…

…that HE calls us to repent and reconcile with HIM in love!

Let us be quick then, oh my soul, to steer clear of all missteps…

…knowing that HIS eternal love also corrects us justly.

Thank GOD then for HIS complete redemption of our oft stumbling souls!

Amen and amen.
